Cafe du Grutli Review

We visited this small restaurant in the old town having found it on google. Really friendly welcome, lovely casual feel with a sense of local community. We went for cheese fondue which was superb, but other dishes that were served looked excellent and wholesome. Daniel who served us was so helpful and fun. By going we also got to see the old town which was really interesting and less commercial than the main town on the lake. That’s not saying that the lakeside isn’t beautiful. It is stunning.

Our group of 6 was lucky enough to have Zack as our waiter. Very personable young man who took great care of us. We all had the combination dinner of charcuterie, followed by delicious cheese fondue, then meringues with Gruyère double cream. Also nice Chasselas wine and finished with limoncello. Altogether delightful and delicious meal. This place is tiny and tucked away, but worth the effort to find. We made a reservation, suggest others do the same.

Great little cafe not too far from the station. Proper fresh local food , very tasty. Try the fondue, excellent.. worth a walk,

Food was exceptional … The fondue was amazing and the beef bourgouignon with potatoes was slow cooked in a red wine jus succulent beyond words The server Daniel was so patient and knowledgeable and even offered us the crème brûlée for dessert - totally made out last evening in Montreux memorable Please do not miss this quaint little treat in the heart of the old town

Food and wine was really delicious. Waitress very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend the fondue set menu with charcuterie starter and meringue desert and the house pinot noir.
