Cambodian BBQ Restaurant Review

It was a hot day in Cambodia, and the restaurant didn't have air conditioning. Imagine how it would feel to eat hot pot in a temperature of over 30 degrees. The BBQ restaurant is different from the traditional Chinese hot pot. It is grilled and has a variety of other meats, such as shark, ostrich, etc. It's very interesting.

We dined at this Cambodian BBQ Restaurant while visiting Pub Street. It is located diagonally opposite the Temple Club. We ordered a special platter for 2 people, which has 13 kinds of meat, and free vegetables, rice, noodles and sauces. The meats include beef, Spanish mackerel, swordfish, chicken, crocodile, duck, frog legs, kangaroo, ostrich, pork, squid, shrimp and shark. Each meat has a special label to let customers know, which is quite interesting. Shark meat tastes not much different from other fish. Surrounding the grill is a clear soup pot similar to a hot pot, which can grill meat and cook vegetables at the same time.

This restaurant is in a great location, right on the main street of Bar Street. The open design along the road allows passers-by to see diners eating, which is a very nice feeling. We ordered a traditional Cambodian BBQ set meal, which includes six meat dishes, vegetarian dishes and noodles. The set meal for two people cost more than $18. There is a soup pot next to the barbecue in the middle of the hot pot. The seasoning tastes very good. It is just enough for two people to eat and be full. The draft beer is very good.

The taste was good, maybe because I was hungry... It felt like barbecue on the soup, and it looked fresh. The vegetables tasted good in the soup, and I drank several bowls. I think chicken and pork are more delicious and tender. For other meats, I just replaced them with chicken. Cuttlefish was OK, and shark meat was just so-so (I don't know if it was real shark). You can order vegetables, rice, and dipping sauces as you like. A set meal of 7 kinds of meat for two people, plus two draft beers, cost about $24... Worth a try!
