Xiangmanlou Anhui Cuisine Restaurant specializes in Anhui farmhouse cuisine. Whether it’s stinky mandarin fish, braised pork with fresh bamboo shoots, braised chicken with chestnuts, or hairy tofu, there’s not much difference from other restaurants. The proprietress was very welcoming. As soon as we entered the door, she served us tea, water and melon seeds, and urged us to sit down.

I went there for their stinky fish. The fish was fresh and delicious, but the smell was a little lighter. After chatting with the boss, I learned that he was afraid that outsiders would not be used to the taste of stinky fish, but it was still good. Their fish is priced by the piece, each fish is more than one pound, just right for two or three people. Some of their signature dishes are also good. The normal average price per person is about 70 yuan. Because I went there during the National Day holiday, it would be lower if it is not a peak period.

The winter bamboo shoots are super delicious, the knife board is also very good, and there are must-eat stinky mandarin fish, hairy tofu, and chicken. The boss lady is very enthusiastic and gave us mulberry wine and plum wine.
