Since the opening of Tangshan Hongyan Restaurant in 1937, after the hard work of several generations of famous chefs and the continuous improvement of cooking skills, "braised pork elbows" has become the brand of Hongyan Restaurant. In 1999, it was rated as a famous Chinese dish by the State Domestic Trade Bureau.
