HARBIN 1907(Youyi Road Main Store) Review

This is not the Central Street store, it is nearly 2 kilometers away. The Youyi Road store probably has the most exhibits and dishes. After getting off the subway, I randomly found a century-old restaurant nearby. When I ran to the door of the store, I could feel that this restaurant was interesting. According to the introduction, it is said that this is the restaurant that first invented the pot-fried pork, although we didn't order the pot-fried pork in the end, hahaha. We ordered some other special dishes. I like the raw pork ribs the most. It is slightly sweet, but not as sour and sweet as the sweet and sour pork ribs. The taste is just right. I also recommend the official tofu. The tofu is very fragrant, and it is a rare light dish. Laochujia is more than just a restaurant. It brings together the information of Harbin's century-old food history in this main store. Laochujia perfectly combines Northeastern specialties with Russian Western food. This is something that no other restaurant can do. It's not just the food, but the food culture. Grilled milk fish, highly recommended, a bit like baked fish, the mashed potatoes and radishes around are equally delicious! Perfect Russian method. Canned shrimp, the method is different from Russian food, the shrimp is big and plump, and the juice is just right. Sand noodle dumplings, a rare thing in sand noodles, it's a blessing to eat. I like Laochujia not only for food, but also for the history of food. I have to say that no other restaurant can do it like them. No matter how much General Steak pays attention to the control of ingredients, and no matter how much the Li family pays attention to the concept of filial piety, it is not as meaningful to us Harbin people as Laochujia pays attention to history.

It is very famous, so there are many people queuing up. There are all kinds of old objects on the wall, including photos, records, and maps, like a small museum. Before we knew it, it was our turn. The dishes were served very quickly, and the amount of food was as generous as the Northeastern people's character. We ordered the dishes that every table would choose, and almost all of them were cleared as soon as they were served. Of course, the selfie party always took photos before eating. Six people and eight dishes cost more than 200 yuan, which is affordable and delicious. I highly recommend it.

Although it is a specialty, I do not recommend it. The canned meat shows that the combination of Russian western food and Chinese cuisine is quite good. The pork ribs, rice balls, and the fried ones with banana and red bean paste are highly recommended. The pork ribs are definitely among the top three pork ribs I have ever eaten. Lao Chujia has opened many stores in Harbin. You must come to the main store on Youyi Road. I don’t think the other branches are authentic, maybe because of psychological effects or other reasons. In addition, there are other special dishes that you can try. In short, this century-old store embodies the spirit of craftsmanship and has such a feeling. Sitting in the store, you can taste the hearts of four generations of craftsmen and listen to them talk about the past and present of Harbin.
