JIAN DAO MIAN Review

This is the main store in Chengde. The store is not very big, but it is quite popular. Basically, we still need to queue for a while when we arrive at 1:00. Although the environment here is average, it is definitely worth it to go to Chengde for the scissor noodles.

This Xianghexing Scissor Noodles is the main store in Chengde, on Liushuigou Road, very close to the city center and Mingdu Square. The scissor noodles are like they have been cut, each piece is not long, and they are chewy and smooth, and taste good. There are five flavors: three mushrooms, beef, spicy, seafood, and home-style. We ordered beef flavor, with spinach, fungus, vermicelli, and beef slices as side dishes. The soup is rich in five-spice powder and pepper. The special snack fried tofu is great, crispy on the outside and fragrant on the inside, and unique.

We were leaving Chengde in the afternoon, so we came to Xianghexing Scissor Noodles for lunch. The shop is not big, in the alley inside the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. It was lunchtime, so there were a lot of people, but the dishes were served very quickly. The Scissor Noodles tasted OK, but not amazing. Maybe I ate a lot of them in Shanxi, so they all tasted the same. I personally don't like the fried tofu, it doesn't suit my taste. Overall, it's worth recommending.

The taste is good, the noodles are generous in portion, and the price is affordable, but the signature fried tofu is not something I am used to, but locals still order it.

The scissors noodles are unique and taste good, so many people come here.
