La Maison des Bois Review

I am definitely a foodie and live in a big food city. This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The ambiance, the service, the food itself and the wonderful staff that was so patient when I tried speaking French (they were trying to speak English)! We had champagne apéro to start with lobster bites. Then an amuse bouche of gazpacho with gambas. Started with foie gras pâte that melted in your mouth, my husband had the lobster salad with very generous pieces of lobster. My main course was navarin de homard (lobster stew), again with a large amount of lobster and a to die for sauce that had to be sopped up with bread. Husband had melt in your mouth filet de boeuf. Dessert was profiteroles for me (but served on a warm plate to keep the chocolate sauce warm), and husband had feuillettes with strawberries and raspberries. I drank viré clessé, husband drank a Pinot noir from Loire. Still more petit fours to end the meal. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough for a special occasion. Look for the family dogs roaming the property (which is also gorgeous). They look a bit scary but are very friendly.

Very nice place, I recommend stopping there; some examples of perfectly prepared dishes: scallop carpaccio, a chocolate dessert. And the service is up to the mark.

A lunch with friends that we want to share with them. The welcome, the dishes, and the setting combine to create a truly high-end meal. A big thank you to the entire team for always making it a point to ensure everything is perfect.

The service was perfect throughout the meal; nothing but positive things from starter to dessert. Especially the scallops with truffles as a starter.

Excellent food, impeccable and friendly service, and a beautiful location I personally would have appreciated a degree or two more in the dining room.
