Lantau Island is located in the southwest of Hong Kong, China, the largest island in Hong Kong, with an area of 147 square kilometers, nearly twice the size of Hong Kong Island, China's second largest island. Lantau has been undeveloped and sparsely populated due to the inconvenience of transportation and distance from the city of Hong Kong. With the completion of Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong Disneyland, Tsing Ma Bridge, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, etc., Lantau has been connected to the city of Hong Kong. Lantau Island, the terrain is high and steep in the southwest, the northeast is low, the main peak Phoenix Mountain is 935 meters above sea level, is the second highest in Hong Kong, after Tai Mo Shan. Lantau is the largest island in Hong Kong, China, with an area of 147 square kilometers. It is equal to two Hong Kong islands. The coastline here is long and twisty, with the harbor and beaches, mountains and flowing water, natural landscapes and historical monuments. Lantau Island has more flat land, only a small flat land under the mountain stream. The most concentrated place on the island is the town of Tai O in the southwest. The mountain is magnificent, known as "Ling Jeding". There are Luohan Temple under the mountain, Luohan Cave and Luohan Spring in the temple are charming. To the west of the mountain is the Po Lian Temple and the "Big Buddha of Heaven", to the north is the castle of Zhang Baozai, a pirate of the Qing Dynasty, and the southeast coast has the longest beach on the coast of Hong Kong - Changsha Bay fishing ground. Its main tourist attractions are: Baolian Temple, Tai O, Qingma Bridge, Temple of Heaven Buddha, Ngong Ping 360, Ngong Ping Square, and Xinjing Jianlin. It is known as the South Tianzhu Kingdom and is the first of the four Zen Forests in Hong Kong, China. Built in 1924, the temple has been operating for decades, making the temple magnificent, with the palace-style grand palace and the majestic temple of the emperor. The temple provides accommodation for visitors to visit Phoenix Mountain to watch the sunrise or for a short renovation. On the top of the Muyu Mountain, opposite the Temple archway, there is a newly built world's largest bronze Buddha statue, called the Temple of Heaven. The statue was designed and produced by the Chinese Ministry of Aerospace Science and Technology, with a total height of nearly 34 meters, which is a crystallization product combining religious art and cutting-edge technology. The three floors of the base of the Big Buddha are equipped with exhibition halls, including a large clock, carved Buddha statues and scriptures. The clock is controlled by a computer and is struck every seven minutes for a total of 108 times for people to "relieve 108 troubles". Tai O has the reputation of "Venice, Hong Kong, China". Tai O is located on the outlying island, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, and is less affected by urbanization, so it still retains the early fishing village style of Hong Kong, China. Tai O is beautiful and the elevated house on the waterway is a residence for fishermen. Rivers and surgings are interspersed in rows of ancient shed buildings, which show a unique fishing village style. Tai O's traditional salted fish, shrimp sauce and fish belly are famous. Visitors will feel the strong taste of the sea when they step into Tai O. A cross-water crossing between Tai O and the island of Lantau was built, which is also one of the characteristics of Tai O, but has now been eliminated.
