The decoration is very simple (a bit straight), with a big bar in the store and wine on the wall, which looks more like a bar at first glance.
I went there with my mother at 8:30. We didn't queue up and got a seat at the bar, but the store was still full.
The decoration and tableware in the store are simple and young, and so are the dishes. It looks like a representative of new French cuisine. The service is more like a Michelin restaurant, warm and caring.
For the appetizer, I ordered the chef's recommendation of the day, seasonal white asparagus with mussels and hot and sour sauce. Now is the season of white asparagus, fresh and tender. The mussels look very clean and of moderate size, and the hot and sour sauce is a bit Thai style. After a bite, it is a seasoning that has never appeared in my memory, very refreshing!! It highlights the freshness of the ingredients.
For the main course, I ordered a butter-grilled scallop with spinach salad and red wine stewed beef. The grilled scallops were also recommended that day. As soon as they were served, the aroma of butter hit my face. The scallop meat was large, white and tender. It was sprinkled with spices similar to five-spice powder, which added an extra layer of flavor. There was no big surprise, but it was delicious, and it was in line with its quality. Another red wine stewed beef dish was of high standard among the few red wine stewed beef dishes I had. The beef was very tender, the soup was fresh and not salty, the side dishes were rich, and the baguette was a perfect match. I would like to mention their baguette in particular, which was really delicious. My mother and I finished two baskets... tear off a small piece and dip it in the soup, and eat it in one bite. The soup filled the mouth immediately, and the original toughness of the baguette became slightly soft. I really like to eat it this way...
For dessert, I ordered bread pudding, all because I had never ordered it before and wanted to try it. The taste was good, a little sweet. But my mother and I have been conquered by the baguette and are not very interested in desserts...
