We stayed in Gaozhuang Xishuangjing in Xishuangbanna this time, not far from Manfeilong Grilled Chicken, the address is: Gaozhuang Xishuangjing Jingmengzhai 5-101. Most of the three days after arriving in Xishuangbanna were spent eating fruits and barbecues here, and we also tasted the Dai food.
The shop decoration is a Dai-style stilt house with an exquisite appearance. The shop is on the third floor. It is cooler downstairs. The hall is arranged around a small pool, with small rattan tables, chairs and benches. People with obesity need a larger place. There are Buddha statues, with Southeast Asian style. The washbasin is in the shape of an elephant, and the long nose is the water outlet. The ceiling is also made of rattan, and the lighting is also a pair of rattan woven lampshades, which are clean and refreshing.
A pagoda connects the three floors, and the bamboo house is built along the river, but the small river outside is dry and there is no scenery, which is a bit regrettable. When the business is particularly good, you have to grab a seat. As soon as you enter the gate, you will be enthusiastically taken to a small round table. The waiter recommended that we go directly to the 388 set meal so that everything is complete.
There are 24 dishes, including roasted chicken (48), fire-roasted dried pork (40), lemongrass grilled fish (28), Dai grilled tofu (28), grilled three-line (35), Dai steamed pork (30), roasted chicken offal platter (20), moss (25), steamed pork dried pork (35), bitter gall rice noodles (25), Dai rice noodles (12), beef skin (12), etc., filling the table.
The plates are also very special, they are small bamboo plates, and the bowls are also homemade. The most delicious thing here is the roasted chicken, which is served on the table and has been served on plates. The roasted skin is crispy and the meat is tender and delicious. The lemongrass grilled fish uses tilapia, which has few bones. It has two characteristics. One is that the fish is sandwiched with green bamboo slices and roasted over an open fire, so it has the fragrance of bamboo. The other is that the lemongrass and coriander that are abundant in the tropical rainforest of Xishuangbanna are used, so it has a unique fragrance of lemongrass. The most distinctive feature is that the fish belly is filled with the Dai people’s special dipping sauce “Tomato Nami.”
The vegetables are raw fern, fish star grass, etc., which can be dipped in the sauce. The corn is very sticky and sweet. Luosuo is the Dai language, which means the rice cake we usually eat, which has a fresh fragrance. Pineapple rice is mixed with pineapple, and the fragrance of pineapple has been integrated into it.
