Mango Tree Review

The Tom Yum Goong soup is too spicy and sour. Even if you order less spicy, it is still very spicy. The shrimp in it is not very fresh. The sauce of the fried water spinach tastes very good, but it is still a bit spicy even if you order less spicy. In the end, the bill is more expensive than Jianxing. Personally, I think it is not necessary to try it unless you go to drink, listen to music and eat at the same time.

This Thai restaurant in Suvarnabhumi International Airport changed my bad impression of airport restaurants. Although people come and go, the waiters work in an orderly manner, without the slow and lazy Thai people. You can see the busy airport outside the window. The food is not bad. As far as airport restaurants are concerned, it is still worth a try.

The rice for the fried rice was not good and it wasn't leftover rice. It was cooked too soft and clumpy, and the texture was too wet. The taste was ok. There were 4 large prawns. The Tom Yum Goong was cooked the way it was done in northern Thailand without coconut milk, so it was very sour and not spicy enough. The advantage was that there were a lot of straw mushrooms and prawns, and the ingredients were sufficient. The lemongrass tea was hot and very delicious. The menu prices here do not include the 7% tax, which you will add when you pay the bill. It's definitely more expensive than in the city, after all, it's at the airport.

Mango Tree is also a famous restaurant in Bangkok, named after the big mango tree in the courtyard. This one at the airport is its branch. I went there with great expectations, and was disappointed again. The Tom Yum Goong soup was extremely average, about the same level as the food on the cruise ship, and there were very few shrimps in it. The mango sticky rice was not delicious either, there were very few mangoes, the sticky rice was too soft, and it had no saltiness. The fried rice was okay, but it was just egg fried rice. The taste was not bad, but it did not match the name, and the price was not cheap. Previously, the chef of Mango Tree came to Shanghai Hilton Garden Inn for an event, and I had tasted his cooking. The snacks were not bad, but the staples were not delicious. This time I completely gave up.
