I haven't come to Rongchu for a meal for a long time. Every time I passed by Nanjing Road before, there were a lot of people queuing up. Recently, it may be because the weather is too hot, and there are obviously fewer people waiting for a table, so I took this opportunity to come here to check in again.
The pork ribs and lotus root soup is not pink lotus root, but the kind of crispy lotus root. There are more pork ribs than lotus roots. The portion is quite substantial. The soup is not very thick and it warms the stomach.
The braised pork with osmanthus and hawthorn is fat but not greasy. The fat-to-lean ratio is not much different. There is also visible hawthorn meat in it, and the slightly sweet taste is just right.
There is really a preserved egg core in the preserved egg meatballs. The meatballs are quite big and chewy.
Its dry-fried lotus root shreds are really crispy. Remember to eat them while they are hot. They will be a bit hard when they are cold. They look very oily, but they are actually okay.
