Signorvino Merano Review

Good for what it is (part of a chain). It was actually just what we needed on a long trip hitting up different restaurants every night. Here, we could relax and just catch a decent, if predictable, meal. Seriously, we appreciated the relaxed aspect that dining here brought.Our wait-person was fabulous. He dealt heroically and humorously with various small glitches from the kitchen or other wait staff. He TOOK CARE of us.

It’s a wine shop with a good selection of wine. The food was just ok unless you had pasta. The menu was quite extensive with many choices for vegetarians among us. Pasta dishes were good. I enjoyed my dessert of chocolate fondant with mascarpone cheese. We felt the service was not the best. Our dishes arrived as appetizers and the rest of our party sat there waiting for a long time for their meals. It was definitely a miscommunication and a language issue. Our waiter didn’t speak English, and even though we had Italian speakers with us, the order of the food was all wrong and one of the dishes we ordered never arrived.

We had antipasti and wine: convenience, but everything very delicious, the wine very good. As in the chain, value is attached to consistent atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, sometimes something unhelpful or over-required when much is lost. We were not asked for our order at the table 30 minutes, an espresso came 20 minutes after the order also only on demand, but then immediately and hot. A wine cooler for our bottle of warm white wine we received only on demand. But then very quickly. All in all we were satisfied and glad to come back.

The hotel is very large, with 2 outdoor rooms and an internal air-conditioned under the ports of the center of Merano. Good variety of petains and, of course, a wide selection of wines. Quick and courteous service. Good quality price ratio.
