Sultanahmet District Review

Just arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, ready to use sporadic time to visit the Sultan Ahmed area to understand the habits of the locals. I met with a rainstorm unexpectedly. Helpless, everyone hid in the market. There was actually a wet cockroach, and it came to shelter from the rain.

There are a lot of places to browse in this area, and they are all walking distances, so it is very convenient to choose a hotel near here, but this is the old town nearby, it is difficult to choose a particularly high-end hotel.

The old city of Istanbul is the "Sultan Ahmed" area. Many tourists have not left this area when they arrive in Istanbul, because this is the "Old City of Istanbul", a world heritage assessed by the United Nations. There are most of the famous attractions in the city. Such as the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Old Palace of Topkap, the Grand Bazaar, etc.

Sultan Ahmed Square, formerly Constantinople Racecourse, next to the Blue Mosque, was once the chariot arena and social center of Constantinople, the Byzantine Imperial capital. It is now Istanbul's open-air museum, a historical, cultural and tourist center.

In 1985, UNESCO listed the Istanbul Cultural District (mainly the European side of Istanbul) as a World Heritage Site, the most important of which is today's Sultan Ahmed District, where the famous Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Cathedral, Historical buildings such as the underground palace and the Topkapa palace.

Day and night, the Sultan Ahmed district is a unique charm, especially the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia on Sultan Ahmed Square are lit, visitors are woven, everything seems so calm, so beautiful.
