Tamura Ginkatsu-tei Review

A very popular restaurant. I thought I could get in line early if I arrived at the restaurant half an hour in advance, but I waited for nearly an hour after getting the number. Tamura has three small buildings, the new building, the old building and the workshop specializing in pork chops. The menu of the old building only has tofu pork chops and set meals. For the new building, you can order everything on the menu. There is a number machine at the entrance of the new building. Select the order of payment, the number of people to reserve, and the new building. Choose a table or Japanese tatami seat or both. After getting the number plate, the reservation is successful, and then just wait. This restaurant is a local Internet celebrity restaurant, praised by the Japanese as the top Internet celebrity restaurant in Hakone, and its main dish is tofu chops. After sitting down, I ordered tofu chops in iron pot. They use tofu instead of pork chops in fried pork chops. The method is the same as Japanese fried pork chops, but it is healthy and delicious, and is loved by Japanese people. The set meal includes iron pot tofu chops, appetizers, miso sauce, salad and dessert. After the dish was served, the tofu was still bubbling in the iron pot. The sweet sauce of the pork chop and the delicious tofu blended together. It was not greasy like deep-fried pork chop at all, and it was also very delicious. The dessert after the meal was matcha pudding. The very sticky pudding was paired with Tamba beans, which was a perfect ending to the meal. I went there at noon, near Gora Station. There were many Japanese people queuing up at the time. I waited for almost an hour before finally getting a bite. The highlight of this restaurant is that it uses tofu instead of pork to make fried tofu dishes. The tofu dish tastes slightly sweet, and the taste is like a combination of fried pork cutlet and sukiyaki. It is worth a try as a local specialty.

The taste is very good, the tofu is very tender, the pork chop inside is not greasy at all with the tofu, the soup is very delicious, fresh and sweet, the best thing is that I forgot the small bag I brought with me when I left, and it took me almost an hour to remember it.
