The Monocle Restaurant Review

Sit at the bar or a table and enjoy a wonderful experience with good food and service. There is something on the menu for everyone and the prices are very affordable. There is also a great bar menu. The owner and Joel the bartender bend over backwards to make everyone feel like they are regulars. A great 5 post hill crowd may mix but feel free to come casually. I love this place! There are some private rooms upstairs and the private room downstairs is being renovated.

Very cool place and very good food. Nothing over the top but solid. I had the grilled salmon and salad. My companion had the pork chop. The pork chop was good but I wasn't in the mood for something that heavy. Probably a cool place for lunch as it's very close to the Hart Senate Office Building.

The Monocle is highly recommended and was just what we needed to end our morning visit to the Capitol. Great food. Fabulous service. Nice wine selection. It felt like the kind of place important people in DC might go for lunch, although we didn't hear of any big deals being made. We had the chicken strip salad and the salmon sandwich. Both were delicious. The experience felt very DC!

The Monocle Restaurant is a steakhouse that is on many list. It is close to the Congress, so there are many people in suits. The men in suits are so handsome...

We had a great dinner at Spectacles. The Caesar salad and steak were excellent and the homemade crispy potatoes were to die for. My husband tried the halibut special and it melted in my mouth. The wait staff was amazing and even our server came up to chat with us. Worth a stop if your in the Capitol Hill area! Oh and I almost forgot, the rosemary bread is one of the best I have ever had!
