Tsang Tai Uk Review

A large house with a history of more than a century, located near Dayuan Station, still retains the characteristics of a century ago. Apart from the addition of air conditioning, nothing else has changed at all.

It is very convenient to get to Tsang Tai Uk in Sha Tin. It is about a 7-minute walk from Sha Tin Wai Station on the Tuen Ma Line. When you come here, you can experience a little tranquility in the busy city. It seems to take people back 100 years ago. The characteristic roof, high threshold, and the layout of the entire big house are all reasons worth visiting.

Sha Tin Tsang House is a residence of Tsang family. Tsang House is one of the typical Hakka Wei Village. The houses in Hakka Wei Village are arranged into fences and look like fortresses from a distance. The biggest feature is that there is no passage on the central axis. A group of halls are built with residential houses connected on both sides, known as "cross houses". The layout of the Tsang House in Sha Tin is "three halls and four horizontal". There are towering towers in the four corners of the house. Only the noblest people in the past would have adopted this design to show their style.

Take a double-decker bus back to Sha Tin at the airport and see a stop called "Zeng Dawu". Come down and find that it is only a few hundred meters away from the Hong Kong Cultural Museum and Chegong Temple. During the "World War II", Zeng Dawu lived in 500 Chinese refugees. Today, watchtowers, gun holes and ear-shaped bunkers are still visible.

Walk along the riverside of New Town Plaza in Sha Tin, about 10-15 minutes. Only a row of old and renovated old houses is seen, nothing special. If you look at it, it is a bit unworthy.
