Xin Kai Hai Restaurant Review

I came here today after being recommended by a friend. It is indeed worthy of recommendation. I did not order dumplings this time, but a Xinjiang rice noodle, a pancake and boneless chicken feet. The taste is great, the portion is large, and the price is not expensive. I will come again next time.

As a foreigner visiting Qingdao, of course my friends in Qingdao introduced me to the authentic Tsingtao beer and authentic seafood. It was really worth the trip as I got to taste real seafood and the world-famous Tsingtao beer!

This should be a very popular restaurant in Qingdao now. I arrived at 5 o'clock and started waiting for a table. Fortunately, the waiting time was not long. I was seated after ordering. The seafood was really fresh, and the cooking method was also quite innovative. I don't know if it was the way it was cooked in Qingdao, but it was different from other places. The sea cucumber, abalone, oysters and swimming crabs we ordered were all special dishes. The swimming crabs were all female crabs, with yellow and plump meat. They were really good and worth the price. There were also signature dumplings. I ordered the family dumplings. In addition to the signature shrimp dumplings, there were also cuttlefish dumplings, conch dumplings, etc. They were all delicious, and they were fresh. In short, it was a very satisfying meal for the whole family.

To be precise, the store of "Qingdao Noblewoman" Huang Bo has a stake in it. Like "Shangqiao Aquatic Products", it has gained popularity with the reputation of Brother Bo! Kaihai has been working for so many years and has won many honors with its excellent food quality and strict control of ingredients. One out of every ten people in the city has eaten Kaihai, which is quite domineering. [Dish Fish Head] The iconic dish of Qingdao Port is also the iconic dish of Kaihai. First fry and then collect the juice, the meat is tender, sweet and greasy, especially the burnt edges around, there is no better fragrance! [Grilled Tiger Prawn] It is bigger than the palm of your hand. Although the prawn head is relatively large, the meat is really tender and salty. [Raw Pickled Crab Claw] The quantity is not large, but the taste is full, fresh and slightly spicy, and the crab meat is soft, glutinous and sweet. [Kaihai Shrimp Dumpling] Super good, beat "Chuan Ge Yu", each dumpling has three fresh shrimps, too real! The garlic paste is also handled very well. [Spicy Stir-fried Hongdao Clams] The taste was bland because it was not stir-fried. I didn't expect that it tasted surprisingly good after I packed it home and microwaved it. [Shrimp and Kohlrabi] The teppanyaki dish was grilled, the shrimps were peeled and the shrimp threads were removed. The quality was also quite high. The kohlrabi was mostly leaves, and the ingredients were not sloppy. People started to come in after five o'clock. At seven or eight o'clock, there were already more than a dozen people waiting. In addition to locals, most of them were foreigners who came here because of its reputation.

I went to this restaurant because of its reputation. I heard that it was opened by Huang Bo. I chose a normal day at noon, but there were already a lot of people when I arrived at 11 o'clock. When I finished eating and paid the bill at 12:30, I found that the people waiting for a table had lined up outside the restaurant. The overall taste is OK. The price is a bit expensive in the local area, but it is normal by Beijing's price standards. I ordered tiger prawns as long as my face, sea cucumbers, crab claws, palm-sized scallops, etc. The three of us spent less than 500. I ate a lot~ I especially recommend the dumplings. There are 3 big shrimps in each dumpling, which is very solid.

It is said to be a store owned by Huang Bo. When I went there, I had already started to wait for a table. This shows how popular the store is. There are snacks, fruits, drinks, etc. in the waiting area. It is good, but the waiting area is a bit crowded and there are a few chairs. Raw pickled crab claws, signature, recommended, delicious and not expensive, the taste of crab claws is super good, heavy on the taste, spicy, salty and sweet. There are also signature shrimp dumplings, which are so delicious that you must order them. Each dumpling has two large shrimps in it. When you bite into it, your mouth will be full of the delicious flavor of the shrimps, and you will feel full of satisfaction. There is not a single one left. Salt and pepper shrimp and tiger, very tasty and fresh. In addition, their juices are freshly squeezed, which is very worthy of the price, and the mango ones are delicious. Their dishes are very fresh, the portions are large, and the prices are not as high as expected. The price/performance ratio is relatively high, so don’t order too much.

Because of my love for Qingdao, I also have a preference for everything around it, so I came to a store where Huang Bo is said to have a stake. The double shrimp dumplings are really addictive, fresh and crispy, my son loves them very much, the raw pickled crab is very tasty, and there is no fishy smell at all, the swimming crab has meat and roe, but it is a pity that it is a bit over-steamed and a bit hard. Overall, it feels worth going there to experience.
