Stewed pancake is one of the specialties of Dunhuang. The meat is stewed until soft and the pancake on top absorbs the broth. It tastes good, the noodles are chewy and not sticky. Lamb baked buns are also delicious. The bun skin is crispy, the stuffing is large and meaty, and the lamb inside feels like barbecued meat, with a lot of cumin and onions. Friends who like lamb can try it. We ate 3 meals of Zhouji Stewed Pancake in Qixinglou during our 2 days in Dunhuang. It was really good. We also tried big plate chicken, fried lamb offal, yellow rice jelly (sweet), hand-pulled rice, donkey meat yellow noodles (I personally don’t like it very much, it’s cold)
