Romantic Hotels in Campania, Italy

The hotel is located near Sorrento train station, about 5 minutes' walk away, which is convenient and fast. The hotel staff are also willing to help. However, the hotel's hygienic condition is average. In just one day, 4 flies were seen in the room. The decoration of the room is also relatively old. The breakfast has basic Western options, all of which taste good. Generally speaking, if you are only staying for a short time, you can also choose this hotel.

We absolutely loved this hotel and wished we stayed longer. After Hotel Margherita, we carried on to Positano, where we stayed for one night, but we wish we stayed in Praiano longer as it was in our opinion better than Positano. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, clean and had beautiful rooms. The breakfast was amazing and staff of both restaurant and front desk were the nicest we ever experienced. We recently stayed at the Hotel Royal Continental in Naples from January 7 to January 9, 2025, and our overall experience was very positive. Location & Safety The hotel is located in one of the safest and most touristic areas of Naples, right on Via Partenope, facing the sea and Castel dell'Ovo. Naples, as a city, is still evolving into a true tourist destination. The city is making significant improvements to attract more visitors, and you can feel that transition happening. This particular area where the hotel is located feels very safe, thanks to continuous police presence. We saw officers patrolling on foot and by car at all hours of the day and night, which gave us peace of mind. The neighborhood is also filled with excellent restaurants offering a wide range of quality food at reasonable prices. Of course, not every place is great, but there are many good options within walking distance. Additionally, the historic center and most major tourist attractions are within walking distance from the hotel. You can take a leisurely stroll and reach the main sights in under an hour. Room & Comfort The seafront location of the hotel is outstanding. The view from our room was beautiful, and we loved opening the panoramic window to let in the fresh sea breeze in the morning and evening. It’s a wonderful way to start and end your day. The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained, with a level of luxury comparable to a 4-star European hotel. However, it's important to note that European hotel standards are different from those in the U.S.. By American standards, this hotel would be closer to a 3-star property. Despite this, the housekeeping staff did a great job cleaning the room daily and replacing towels. Service & Atmosphere The hotel staff is professional and polite, but interactions felt a bit robotic and mechanical. It seemed like they were following routines rather than making genuine connections with guests. That said, room cleanliness was good, and we appreciated the attention to detail in that regard. One thing that stood out is the hotel’s nostalgic 1950s vibe. The hotel seems proud of its mid-century charm, which they promote through signs and advertisements around the property. If you enjoy that type of retro atmosphere, you’ll appreciate this hotel. Breakfast Experience The breakfast at the hotel was excellent. The dining room overlooks the sea, which makes for a lovely breakfast setting. There are several breakfast stations with a wide variety of options, and the food quality was great. Waiters clean the tables and take care of guests throughout breakfast service, which adds a nice touch. We were very satisfied with the overall breakfast experience. Final Thoughts Overall, Hotel Royal Continental is a solid choice for staying in Naples. The location is its biggest strength, offering stunning views, proximity to restaurants, and easy access to the historic center. it provides a comfortable and memorable experience with beautiful sea views and a nostalgic atmosphere. Would we stay here again? Yes, for the views, location, and breakfast!

The hotel is located on the cliff and the coast, with a quiet environment. The sea view room faces Mount Vesuvius, which is refreshing! The lights of the bay in the distance at night are even more romantic!

Very good hotel, right in the center of amifl, with panoramic sea view. There are bus stops when you go out, and you can reach all the small towns you go to. The maintenance of the hotel is okay, and the price/performance ratio is not too high. Traveling is very convenient. The breakfast is mediocre and not rich enough.

It was a really nice hotel. It is run by a family and they are very proud of it. The location is Anacapri, but if you let us know the port timetable in advance, a shuttle will come to the port!! The shuttle comes when you arrive and when you leave. They pay very close attention to detail. When I was out in the middle of the day, they cleaned things up once. He booked me a ferry ticket for the next day and even though the flight was cancelled, he looked for another route and explained it to me. The breakfast is simple Italian style, similar to other hotels, but the quality is very good and there is a variety of fruits. Minibar is also free. The swimming pool is so pretty! Because the hotel is at a high altitude, it will be cold to swim in April, but it will be better from May onwards. Next time I visit, I'm going to try the boat tour or fishing tour provided by the hotel! It was such a fun experience Lots of Koreans come 🥰

Hotel itself is pretty standard as what you would expect from any big chain hotels, but service was definitely not up to par. We were told there would be valet service - there was none. The bus boys just told us to park ourselves. FINE. Then after I've checked in I asked if the luggage will be sent up to our room - reception then asked if I got a luggage ticket to which I told him we weren't given anything. The bus boys just stood around the entrance. He said they would be sent up shortly but given how they were just standing around we just took our luggage ourselves - mind you I am 6 months pregnant and obviously so but they did not offer any help. Once we got to our room the air conditioning was not working - we kept dialing it down but there was no air. Amazing to find out the AC wasn't working for the price we paid. The room is stuffy and even the hallway was cooler. Also during our stay there was conference - we were given a room on the same floor as conference participants and as expected they were loud and rowdy at night. We could hear them talking in the hallway at night when we called reception they said there was nothing they can do. So very helpful. Upon check out, the same bus boy stood around while watching a pregnant lady wheel 4 pieces of luggage out. I really just wonder what they do other than standing around all day hanging in the shade. Service is terrible here and I've had better service at small boutique or family run hotels than here. The only upside to this stay was that the rooms are spacious and clean and that's about it.

Service: Picking up and dropping off luggage, parking the car on behalf of others is very good Facilities: There are not many underground parking spaces and the price is 50€/day. Environment: The scenery at the SKY bar on the rooftop is unparalleled, right in front of the castle, with a panoramic view of the surrounding sea!

Nice and clean hotel, the receptionist was very helpful, she recommended nice restaurants for us and also help us book the taxi whenever we need it, breakfast was simple but good, overall I fully recommend this hotel

Hotel staff are well educated and very friendly The view is a very good hotel and the sea view rooms are all terrace but the hotel location itself is not only far from the city center but also to go by public transportation It's a very difficult location, so you're prepared for that part. I've been prepared for one night, but it's not a good location for traveling in Naples for more than two days.
