Because of my special fondness for Pu'er tea, I embarked on a spontaneous trip today to explore the roots and mysteries of Pu'er's ancient tea trees. I'm deeply grateful to our driver, Xiaoyan (Xiaoyan), a genuine Dai man, for helping me fulfill this wonderful dream. The road from Banna to Pu'er consists of a county road, a cement winding mountain road, and over 20 kilometers of stone-paved mountain roads. The conditions are quite complex and put a real test on driving skills, but Xiaoyan's driving skills were excellent, and his steering was incredibly steady. Furthermore, since we were small and didn't have a dedicated guide, Xiaoyan also took it upon himself to explain things and answer our questions. His knowledge was comprehensive, and he was incredibly enthusiastic and patient. I even joked that Xiaoyan was the Pu'er County Cultural Tourism Promotion Officer, delayed by the driver. Speaking of scenery, Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Trees is a recognizable name in Pu'er tea. The immersive experience truly revealed its extraordinary antiquity. Entering the ancient villages of Wengji and Nuogan felt like traveling back a thousand years to ancient times. The roads are paved with ancient stones, the houses are ancient stilt houses, the Dai women working there are often in their nineties or even centuries old, the trees are often hundreds or even thousands of years old, and the Pu'er tea trees are often hundreds of years old. The air in the ancient village is fresh and sweet, the sky is a deep blue, and the clouds are snow-white. This journey is well worth it.
