The driver was great and accomodating and he was timely as well for the entire trip. However there were some issues with the description of what was mentioned in the programme. It stated that Simatai was one of the locations that would be included in the programme. However, there was a requirement to pay additional 200 yuan for this. Therefore the description of the programme was misleading. Other than this everything was smooth!★

Trip to Simatai Great Wall and Gubei Water Town
• I arrived at Guomao Metro Station at 08:00 AM, and the bus departed around 08:20 AM.
• The traffic was extremely heavy, likely due to the holiday crowd—many people were traveling from Beijing to Simatai.
• I recommend buying a bundled ticket that includes both the Simatai Great Wall and Gubei Water Town, which saves time and effort.
• It’s also a good idea to purchase a round-trip cable car ticket—this will make your visit much more comfortable, especially if you want to conserve energy for sightseeing.
• After a 200-meter walk from the cable car station, you’ll reach the Simatai section of the Great Wall.
• The scenery was stunning—Simatai offers a less-crowded and more preserved section of the Wall with beautiful panoramic views.
• The return bus departed at 20:00 PM and arrived back in Beijing by 22:00 PM, with three stops along the way.★

This was an excellent trip. Yo yo our guide wrote to us the night before conforming pick up location and timing details. When we arrived we were greeted by her and all of the procedures were explained clearly. The bus takes about an hour and change to drive up to the mountains to get to the wall. When we arrived at the first restored section of the wall our guide handled all of the check in details for us. We took a funicular up to the restored section of the wall on a hot day. There were a decent amount of other tourists up there (mostly Chinese) but it wasn’t crowded. Yo yo advised us on the best views and the best ways to explore to avoid getting lost as there are many access points to the restored section of the wall. The way you go up is the way you come back down. We had roughly two hours to explore and we used it. After this we met back up at the bus and went to a second unrestored section of the wall. The first section was impressive but this section was magnificent. 10/10!!!!★

Highly recommend this half day guide. Our guide Lisa was very knowledgeable and very organised on the day. She showed us around the whole of forbidden city and told us so much about every part, something we wouldn't have got just visiting ourselves. She took time to check on everyone's welfare and had plenty of time for questions about the palace or just china in general. Overall certainly worth booking as it just wouldn't be possible to experience as much, or learn as much about the forbidden city. Communication was spot on before the visit with Lisa arranging everything over wechat.★

At 8:50am, I departed from the state-owned station and arrived at Gubei Water Town after a two-hour drive. It was very similar to the ancient city of Lijiang, Yunnan. Very few passengers were visiting it on the same day. After the water town, it is the Simatai Great Wall. You can choose to climb the city by cable car. I choose to walk to the city/downtown. The scenery is very beautiful. The 7:30pm collection returned to Beijing, the tour guide explained very detailed, worth recommending.
