We had a wonderful day exploring Quito. Ishmael was a super flexible guide who was knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. He adjusted the itinerary so that we had clearer weather and visibility at the top of the cable car. The view was simply spectacular. We had a great visit to a local market in town. We enjoyed a walk about at the Basilica and around Old Town. The lunch spot was fantastic and featured amazing local dishes. We closed the day with a visit to the equator. I highly recommend this tour.★

Kathy was likely the best tour guide we have ever encountered. She was a wealth of knowledge of Ecuador and was incredibly kind. She had us laughing and smiling nearly the entire trip. She happily answered countless questions about the culture and history of Ecuador and provided interesting additional information as well. But where she really shined in my opinion was on the hike to base camp at Cotopaxi.
She handled my labored breathing in an excellent manor and was very patient. Especially for someone that has summited many of the volcanoes in Ecuador and could do it at ease. She gave the encouragement for me to continue on in a perfect manner giving time for rests.
It is my belief she truly does whatever she can to make sure the folks on her tour are genuinely happy. She will go to any length in order to do so. Kathy was such a kind and wonderful person.
My favorite activity of the day was the horseback riding led by Johnny at Cotopaxi National Park (arranged by Kathy). He was an amazing guide, good communicator, very friendly, and let us do some fun things with the horses. He seemed to be a true Cowboy and we very much enjoyed his guiding. The scenery on the horseback ride is absolutely breathtaking. I felt so relaxed and at peace during our ride. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I loved every minute of it.
We loved our tour with Kathy so much (largely due to her great personality and knowledge, but also due to the activities she had planned) that we intend to return to Ecuador someday and will definitely seek her services again. Kathy, and this tour get our highest recommendation. The sights are top notch and you couldn’t ask for a better guide!★

Reviews: Cotopaxi Full-Day from Quito Including Entrances

This tour was awesome. I had a limited stay in Ecuador and wanted to make sure I captured a great experience and this was awesome! From an organised pickup, preparing for the altitude and then even having the clouds clear so we could have amazing photos of Cotopaxi (kidding of course, the weather is unpredictable here but we were very lucky for a fabulous clear view on this day). The hike itself is not long but the altitude definitely tests you. It is all worth it for the stunning view of Cotopaxi! A hike that you can do without a load of hiking gear, definitely wear a lot of layers, the wind is cold. Cover your head and ears as well.
The tour guide Irene was amazing, she had so much information to share during the whole tour. Was helpful with some further questions about Ecuador itself aswell which was great. And of course Andres was a very skilled driver.
Definitely recommend this tour, I may even have to plan to do the summit one day.★

Incredible private tour to an amazing area!
Picked up from our hotel in Quito by our tour guide Ximena, she offered us a selection of activities to choose from during our tour.
There was a forest waterfall hike, with options for an easy, moderate or difficult trail. During it Ximena gave us loads of information about the local fauna.
Another option was zip lining or Sky biking. We chose the sky biking (cycling across a zip line), so crazy but fun!We then took a cable car ride to get a great view of the forested mountains.
After a nice lunch in a local restaurant there was an option to do a coffee making or chocolate making demonstration. We picked coffee, it was really interesting and the guide was really fun. She had us get involved in every stage and made us laugh a lot. We got to sample some amazing coffee after.
Finally we went to a private mockingbird sanctuary where we had the beautiful tiny birds feeding out of our hands. One of the best experiences of my life.
Two other options we could have chosen were visiting a butterfly sanctuary and tubing. But we prioritised the other activities.
As well as information about the area and activities Ximena was so friendly, talked to us a lot about Ecuador and gave us all sorts of recommendations. It was a really wonderful day!★

Wonderful Day! I loved all the stops especially the hummingbirds & butterflies. My guide was very knowledgeable & set a perfect pace up from the waterfall.
