The Palais des Festivals (Palais des Festivals de Cannes) was built in 1982 and is an important meeting place for the Cannes Film Festival. The Palais des Festivals has a capacity of 30,000 people, excellent sound facilities, and besides being the official venue of the festival, it also contains many business conference halls. It is said that the carpet on the steps of the Palais des Festivals is red only when there is an event, and blue at other times. So if you come across a festival, don't forget to take pictures on the steps covered with red carpets to experience the taste of being a star. Visitors still have a better chance of seeing a red carpet than a blue one, as the Palais des Festivals is not idle for most of the year. Every year, there is the Acacia Festival in February, the International Film Festival in May, and the Music Festival and Fireworks Festival in July. In addition, there are fixed festivals such as the International Boat Festival, the International Music and Record Festival, the Mimosa Festival, and the Dance Festival. Under such a dense schedule, if you want to use the Palais des Festivals, you need to book two years in advance.Cannes · 25.7 km from French Riviera

Nice's Old Town is truly charming! The intricate network of alleyways feels like an adventure. Brightly colored houses line both sides, along with various interesting shops and delicious restaurants. Here, you can experience a rich Southern European atmosphere; it's incredibly romantic and perfect for a leisurely stroll and enjoying a relaxing time.

A Winter's Glow Over the Bay of Angels The winter glow of Nice is a visual feast not to be missed. At dawn, the Bay of Angels is covered with a thin layer of snow, its fine white sand and pebble beaches half pure white and half deep black. As the first rays of sunlight pierce through the clouds, the entire bay is instantly bathed in a warm orange-gold hue, the sea shimmering like it's been sprinkled with diamonds. The colorful old buildings, illuminated by the glow and snow, take on an oil painting-like quality. Warm yellow walls and pale pink roofs appear even more gentle under the snow, while the silhouettes of palm trees are outlined with graceful lines in the golden light. The waves gently lap against the shore, creating a soft, pattering sound, and together with the snow-covered Castle Hill in the distance, a breathtaking scene. This romance is not always available; the once-in-a-decade snowfall and the perfectly timed glow combine to create this uniquely Mediterranean gentleness. Standing on the streets of Anglo-Saxon, watching the golden sunlight gradually melt the snow, you'll understand that Nice's winter is more worthwhile than you might imagine.

It happened to be winter when I went there, so there were almost no people on the beach. The sea water was not as blue as in summer, but the light blue hue was also unique. Although it is also close to the Mediterranean Sea, the sea breeze is much milder than that in Tel Aviv and Alexandria, Egypt, and the climate is mild and pleasant. No wonder Matisse went to Nice for recuperation in winter. This time there was a strike, and the city's transportation was on strike. I just walked around the old town and the beach, strolled on the English Promenade, and picked up stones on the beach. I could spend a whole day there.

The walk to the top of the hill can be completed within half an hour, which is rather comfortable and suitable for family travelers. There were some ruins of an ancient church and fortress. The panorama of Nice is also breathtaking for travelers. The visit could normally be completed within two hours.

Cannes in France is famous for the annual Cannes Film Festival. Cannes has 15 kilometers of coastline, about 7.5 kilometers of which are beaches. This is the famous port of Horseheads and beaches on the Mediterranean coast of France. The fine white sand of Cannes Beach is replenished before the season begins in mid-May.

In summer, come to the lotus pond to pick lotus pods. A wooden boardwalk has been built, allowing you to walk directly to the middle of the pond and pick the lotus pods without stepping in the mud. The large pods are within easy reach. Freshly picked lotus seeds are tender, white, sweet, and crisp; a bite is refreshingly sweet and not greasy. They're sold by weight, cheaper than at the market. Sitting by the boardwalk, slowly peeling them, the cool breeze blowing from the pond is delightful. They taste better than store-bought lotus seeds. Spending a leisurely afternoon there leaves you feeling refreshed, even your breath is filled with the fragrance of lotus blossoms.

Cannes is also a small city that is very suitable for tourism. It is also one of the good places to hold film festivals. Every gathering of the film festival is very popular, and there are quite a lot of film projects here.

When talking about Cannes, the first thing that comes to mind is the red carpet and the movie palace. However, the actual movie red carpet palace is not very big. It looks particularly big every year when there are no cameras and tourists! In Cannes without a film festival, the red carpet is a market, a place for people to communicate!
