Inverness has become silly in terms of hotel prices. HI Express is reasonably priced, breakfast is included and it's now my main choice for the Highland capital. Staff welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast choice. On this occasion, my only negative comment was that the heating wasn't working in our ground floor room. There was a convector heater in the room but this wasn't ideal to maintain a good temperature.

It's hard to book a room in Portree during the peak season, and this hotel happened to have a vacancy. The room facilities are OK. It's not easy to find a room with a suitable price in Skye Island. The first floor we stayed in looked like the second floor, and there was a basement. The breakfast was quite satisfactory. There is a supermarket and a gas station next to the hotel. Free parking, there is a free parking lot next to the hotel.

The staff were absolutely phenomenal and all so welcoming. Top rate service all the way. Food was ok for dinner and breakfast. The room was really spacious and clean. Only thing that was maybe a downside was the mattress was very old.

The room was basic but clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. location was perfect for the local amenities. Price was fair but the details concerning the included breakfast were misleading, as the breakfast was ”continental” not ”full Scottish” as I had assumed however, the selection on offer was varied . I would suggest that it should be stressed when booking online, that breakfast is ”continental”

We booked a family room with our kids, which is a double bed (1.5?) and a single bed, which is more in line with our requirements. It's just an ordinary hotel for one night, and we didn't expect too much. Breakfast time is 7-8:45, maybe it's not the peak season, so there are not many people. The hotel also has a restaurant for dinner, which closes at about 8 o'clock. There is also a supermarket next to it. The town is not very big, and the pier is just two steps away after dinner.

We missed the furry that we have to ship. Then we have arrived at the hotel past midnight the hotel accommodated us by dropping the key in front of the reservation there for us thank you so much.

Great location, and the room was well-equipped. The decor was traditional and the food was good.

Our stay was lovely. We liked the novel idea of staying in someplace that is technically a castle. The room was nice and clean and the bathroom was spacious and very clean. They didn't offer the info to us when we arrived, but we ended up walking ourselves around the hotel and found the reception desk person giving another couple a tour of the hotel and telling them the history -- I'd have been disappointed to have missed this, but I'm glad we got the info regardless that it wasn't offered to us. Had dinner and drinks in the Green Lady Lounge which was nice and had good food.

Relatively simple, but liveable, the house is older. Breakfast is ok.
