Great location near Sanomiya train station with lots of food nearby. Also have a supermarket and daiso nearby. The place also provide happy hour wine and snacks like candy and pancake. Kids love it.

Traveling with my family, we picked this hotel for its convenient location near the bus stop. It's also an easy 7-8 minute walk from the train station, so it was really simple to find. The surrounding area is packed with fantastic dining options, from yakitori to gyudon. Regarding the hotel itself, while the lobby isn't huge, they do provide toiletries. On the plus side, the room was quite spacious, and the cleanliness was excellent.

Location is quiet and away from the buzzing night life of Kobe. There's a Family Mart across the street and a 7- eleven further down. It's about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the main shopping district. Breakfast variety is more towards traditional Japanese style, with a mix of western such as omelette, sausages, bacons. Disappointed that they don't have cereals/ muselis though.

I quite like this hotel! The front desk also gave us a 1000yen/per coupon, and there was also a list of places where it could be used. We were worried that there was no place to eat in the remote area, so we just picked a restaurant that looked pretty good. It took a few minutes to drive there... You still need to take off your shoes for the tatami, and then an English-speaking waiter came out and gestured to say sorry, it was full... But there was obviously no one in the store, hahaha! I think it might be a reservation system. After a bow and sending us out, we could only rely on Lawson for dinner. I joked with the front desk, and then went to the restaurant bar to eat the dinner I bought at the convenience store. On the way, a staff member came and found several restaurants, gestured that he could help make a reservation by phone and we could go right away. But we were already full... haha! But the service attitude is really good... (The restaurant that I didn’t eat is the one in the picture, planting grass... leave it for next time)

Amazing hotel!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Large room, incredibly comfortable beds, good temperature control. Very nice shower room. One downside was there was only a small table (there we two of us). There was a shared kitchen and lounge area, which were very nice. The coffee was excellent. I would love to stay there again. Very close to the bus stop and whirlpool tour. But public transport on the island is very limited so it is difficult to get to other attractions if you don't have a car. There is local bike hire, but they were out of/didn't have e bikes, and the hills are very steep.

This is a beachfront budget hotel. While the hotel doesn't offer dining services, there are plenty of great food options nearby. I highly recommend Tsurumaru Udon; it's run by an older gentleman and a young person, and we ended up eating there twice during our stay in Awaji. The beach is a public bathing area and gets quite busy with local Japanese tourists during the summer. It's quite natural and largely unmaintained, giving it a rustic charm. We traveled to Awaji by bus from Kobe Sannomiya, and the hotel is conveniently just a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. At the same bus stop, you can purchase a 1000 JPY day pass for various attractions, but be aware that bus services are infrequent. It's advisable to check the timetable at the station beforehand. Besides the udon place, we also tried Ura Shokudo and Kintaro Sushi. Ura Shokudo is a local cafeteria-style restaurant where you pick your dishes and pay at the counter. Their tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet) and noodles are made fresh to order. Kintaro Conveyor Belt Sushi is very popular; we had to queue both times we visited, so I'd suggest going during off-peak hours.

I particularly enjoyed the outdoor onsen complex; it felt exceptionally clean, and I appreciated the wide selection of toiletries, opting for the POLA brand myself. The entire facility was spotless, and soaking in the baths was incredibly relaxing. They even provided complimentary cold drinks, massage chairs, and Yakult. This hotel attracts many Japanese guests, which speaks to its quality. The location is also excellent, not far from Motomachi Station and conveniently situated right by the Nankinmachi (Chinatown) entrance. Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. Oh, and a special mention for the late-night noodles – they were genuinely delicious! My son even managed to eat two bowls in one sitting, which is high praise indeed! 😂

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Sannomiya Station. The room had quite an interesting layout. My only minor complaint is the lack of toiletries, especially makeup remover. I didn't bring any, as most Japanese hotels typically provide them. I had all my other essentials with me. I regrettably never got to try the hotel's ice cream; I only saw them packing up the stand during check-in, and was always out early and back late during my stay.

AAnonymous User对不是日本人完全不友善的酒店 Not foreigner ( Western & Asian) friendly. We travelled around 70 Roykan in the last 3 years and this is the wrost service we ever had. Japanese get to seat and offered juices when they checked in while we have to stand at the front desk and no juice offered. We asked for the yukata rental (free rental) and the young staff just ignore us twice. We asked for sizes a few times then he just said it’s all here. Then when we picking the only two small sizes he grabbed and give it to the Japanese girl and ignore us or never ask us before he took it as he knows we are looking into those. Very rude. Most of ryokan will bring you to the room or assist to bring luggage or already put in the room for you. This one you do everything yourself after check in. When we get into the hotel room it’s hot as no aircon is on. Then air con is broken so we called reception. With their broken English they insisted I don’t know how to turn on the aircon which I told them the air con is broken, after 15mins on the phone showing me how to on I keep telling them to send the staff up as we are so hot in the room as it’s summer and no window open and no fan was on after moving luggage. They came up and fix the air con for 45mins then told us it’s broken and need to change room. The whole hour we were sweating but no offer of water / drinks or anything and we just stand in the room while they fixing. When they decided the room need to be changed, they asked us to wait downstairs but leave the luggage in the room so we thought they will move luggage to the new room but they did not. Staff see us so hot at lobby didn’t tell us there is free drinking machine that we can get ice juices , they just watch us hot and sweat and not saying a word. When the new room is finished, they gave us the new room key and asked us to move the luggage ourself and return the old key. No help at all and wasted 1.5 hours of our onsen time. No apologies as well. I feel like being treated like a trash. Not enjoyable at all. I paid extra for the sea view room which when they change my room they offered a slightly bigger room but my sea view was mostly blocked (in the pic )which I am not so happy. There is amenities corner at the lobby, at night after the onsen we come back and want to take the lotion as early on it was gone and they didn’t replenish, the female staff have a bad attitude and flip her eyes ask us which room we stayed, we showed her the key and she said the cream is already in the room which her broken English. There is one set in the room but those are small one time pack which we finish after we had the onsen so we want to take another one. She was rude and insist we can’t take. Her attitude was so bad seems like we are stealing. There is an amenities cornor, if you not allowing guest to take please do not have this setup. Food is okay with the buffet. Wagyu beef is nice but they is a normal standard for Japanese onsen buffet nothing too special. Overall, with the price paying compare to other roykan in Japan, this hotel have very bad service to non Japanese. There is also nothing special for this onsen. Probably best to try somewhere else.

LleslieshaoThis is a mid-sized hotel with relatively new rooms and facilities compared to traditional hotels. Check-in started at 3:00 AM, and all private baths, breakfast, and dinner were arranged in advance upon check-in. While the timing wasn't ideal, it was still more reasonable than wasting time and having other guests take up space. The airport pick-up agent was very welcoming, and the breakfast and dinner were pretty standard compared to other Japanese onsen hotels, with no major flaws. Arima, one of Japan's three most famous onsens, is certainly quite good, and being only 26 kilometers from Kobe, a single night's stay was sufficient.

LLucky101I recently stayed at the Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu Rei Hotel during my visit to the Kobe Exhibition, and I must say it was an excellent choice. The location is ideal, just a 15-minute subway ride to the exhibition center, with a direct line making the journey straightforward and hassle-free. The hotel's proximity to the subway is a major plus, offering seamless travel around the city. Notably, there's only one line change required to get to Osaka, making it convenient for day trips or additional business meetings. Surrounding the hotel, you'll find a plethora of restaurants catering to all tastes, ensuring you won't go hungry. Additionally, there's a massage center nearby, perfect for relaxing after a long day of activities. For those traveling by night buses, the station is conveniently close, making late-night travel plans easy to manage. While the hotel amenities were generally good, I did miss the availability of free coffee, which would have been a nice touch. However, this was a minor issue in an otherwise excellent stay. Overall, I highly recommend the Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu Rei Hotel for its prime location, convenience, and the abundance of nearby facilities. It’s an ideal choice for anyone visiting Kobe, whether for business or leisure.

LLivyC75The ryokan style rooms were a lovely touch. The inclusive dinner came with so many courses that we were absolutely stuffed every single night and the fact that a member of staff helps explain all the dishes and prepares them in front of us felt like a real lovely touch of authenticity and luxury. There are no individual bathrooms in the rooms aside from a sink and toilet but the hotel Onsen is easy to access and comfortable to use. The staff also make the bed after dinner every night and anytime we had questions for reception, they were always happy to help, especially with train station transfer and recommendations and vouchers for different restaurants in town. The hotel rooms have a great view of the mountains as it is slightly off the main road. I would definitely recommend this for couples traveling.

CCamilla TamI booked this place at the last minute as we wanted to extend our stay in Arima Onsen by one night and most hotels were fully-booked. I searched on *********** but couldn't find any suitable accomodation so thought to try Trip.com. This hotel came up only on this site and I was delighted to find it. At first I was concerned by the lack of reviews, but all the reviews were good and the room looked ideal for a family of four; 2 western beds and 2 tatami beds, with spacious living area and separate bathroom and toilet. It was really great value for money. The size of the room was very generous, and the facilities were great. We made use of the Onsen baths and the table tennis room during our stay. None of the staff spoke english but this wasn't an issue as they were all adept at using google translate. The location is also fine - it is situated between the town and the ropeway, so it is easy walking distance to each, which was very useful since they dont offer any shuttle service. All in all I would reccomend it for a short stay in Arima onsen as it is really good value for money.

AAnonymous UserThis should be the cheapest hotel among Tadao Ando's architectural works. It focuses on the best value for money. The kitchen in the loft room is quite easy to use, with all the pots and pans available. The massage bathtub in the bathroom upstairs is also very good. Yes, the only regret is that you can't see the sea from the room. You can't see the sea even if you have stayed in a Western-style single room before. You can only walk outside to enjoy it. It's a bit of a pity. The breakfast provided by the hotel is quite delicious. I ate all the rice in a pot.
