Renfe offers discounts for disabled individuals, providing up to 40% off. By purchasing a Tarjeta Dorada for €6, you can travel on AVE, Avant, and Cercanías trains for one year. Note that the discount on Avant trains is higher on weekends. Refunds or changes to your ticket depend on the type of ticket and may involve a fee.

Renfe Spanish Large Families Fare

Renfe supports large families in Spain with discounted fares, offering 20% for general and 50% for special category families on AVE and Larga Distancia trains. However, these discounts are not valid on AVE International, Avant, or Cercanías trains. Additionally, single-parent families can enjoy discounts on Rodalies services in Catalonia by presenting a certificate issued by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Renfe Over-60s Fare

Renfe offers up to 40% discounts for those aged over 60 with the Tarjeta Dorada. The card costs €6 for one year, €12 for two years, and €15 for three years. If you are travelling on AVE and AVE international trains, you can get a 25% discount. For Avant trains, discounts vary between weekdays and weekends: 25% during weekdays and 40% on weekends. All services provided with discounted tickets are the same as those with full-price tickets, including the policies for changes and refunds.

Advance booking

You can enjoy discounts of up to 70% by booking in advance. Popular routes allow bookings up to nine months ahead, and for other routes, the sooner you book, the cheaper it will be. Trip.com has marked the lowest prices for you, easing your travel arrangements.

Renfe Group Fare

Groups of 4 to 9 people travelling on AVE or AVE International trains will receive an 8% discount. Groups of 10 to 25 people can get up to a 50% discount on AVE, AVE International, Avant, and Cercanías trains. For groups larger than 25 people, you can submit a quote for approval. Please note that all Renfe group tickets are non-changeable. If you need to cancel, the entire booking must be cancelled according to the original ticket's terms and conditions, and a fee will apply.

Onboard Renfe trains from Valencia to Madrid

Renfe's AVE trains categorize their services into four types based on ticket prices, ensuring convenience for all passengers. The seating types are divided into Standard for Básico and Elige Estándar tickets, and XL Comfort for Elige Confort and Prémium tickets.

All AVE trains have high-speed WiFi, power outlets, and can accommodate up to three bags. The Standard seats are designed for regular commuters or people on budget. You can enjoy a quiet time to rest, read, or work in a silent coach. Onboard dining options include a cafeteria and a food trolley.

XL Comfort is designed for those who pursue a higher quality of travel, and offers more services, including wider seats and more legroom. With Prémium tickets, you can also enjoy the Premium Menu at your seat, as well as snacks and drinks in the station's waiting room.
