Retaining wall collapse impacts routes between Skipton and Carlisle

    Period:25 فبراير 2026, الأربعاء to 25 فبراير 2026, الأربعاء
    Operators:Northern
Related Information:During pre-planned engineering work between Garsdale and Kirkby Stephen, a retaining wall collapsed on to the line. Whilst urgent track repairs are carried out in the area, trains will have to run at reduced speed between Skipton and Carlisle. As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes. This is expected to be the case until the end of the day. Customer advice: What has happened? Services between Skipton and Carlisle are being disrupted due to urgent repairs to the railway. Network Rail staff are on site and expect repairs to take until at least the end of service. How does this affect my journey? Today, Wednesday 25 February: Train services will be unable to run between Garsdale and Kirkby Stephen in either direction. Train services will run between Skipton and Garsdale, and between Kirkby Stephen and Carlisle. Northern services between Skipton and Morecambe / Lancaster are not affected. What should I do? Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including advance and peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends. You can also travel on Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express services at no extra cost between Preston / Lancaster and Carlisle. Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption – please check your whole journey before travelling. Replacement transport: Road replacement buses will operate: From Settle to Carlisle (calling at Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Ribblehead, Garsdale) and then setting down on request at other stations at 06:33, 09:00, 10:31, 12:01, 14:27, 16:30, 17:59 and 19:28. Signalling system fault impacts routes between Wool and Weymouth

    Period:25 فبراير 2026, الأربعاء to 25 فبراير 2026, الأربعاء
    Operators:South Western Railway
Related Information:A signalling problem between Moreton (Dorset) and Dorchester South means that trains must run at a reduced speed on all lines. As a result, services operating through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. Customer advice: From now until 10:00, there will be an hourly service running between Wool and Weymouth in both directions, with services terminating / starting at Wool every half an hour.
