Mama Tere

We stopped for the night in Leon on our way back to Portugal. We didn't have any particular expectations for our meal, just something decent. But what a surprise at Mama Tere's! The setting, the staff, the food, and the wine were all well beyond our expectations: perfect! And all at a very reasonable price.

Good restaurant centrally located with a very nice and unusual atmosphere. The music was great and not obtrusive. Tge dishes hamburger and meat dish, were very good.

After trekking some 500 km on the Camino, we are taking a rest in Leon. Thanks to a recommendation in the Moon Camino guide, we booked our early anniversary ‘date’ dinner at Mama Tere. We enjoyed every minute, and every bite from the time we strolled up to the cafe until the time we left. Best meal on the Camino in our experiences so far.

Great food and service, we took the waiters recommendation which was something we would not of ordered and it was all sensational.

Excellent food, tuna belly starter was superb, as was the scallop main course and the squid with rice and squid ink. Excellent service, waitress was very friendly and professional, at one point I dropped my knife, before I could bend down to pick it up she had taken it and brought a new one. The restaurant is highly recommended
