Visited the Jazz Cafe on Friday 19th October 2018 at lunchtime, booked a table for the evening, were told the music would start at 8:30 and the jazz at 10. We arrived promptly, waited, waited, ordered some cocktails which were honestly quite good and not as expensive as expected. Whilst ordering drinks we were constantly harassed by staff (who seemed annoyed by the lack of customers) to order food. We were advised to wait and all seemed fine but very quiet. More drinks as still no music, however, this group of violinists was due to start at 8:30 and they were busy giggling in the corner. After sitting for some time in the over exaggerated air conditioning, one of the many management noticed this as a few customers hugged themselves, which was reduced. Finally, around 9:30 the girls took to the stage and started playing. Clearly this was a new scene as a young, giggling quartet, but at least it was something. So we ordered and noticed two other tables had done the same, (one was being served) the dishes took ages to come and were cold and clearly sat on a plate, obviously disappointed. The strings ended and then it was even quieter. After some time we asked what time the jazz music was supposed to start and the waitress who was initially eager to serve told us she would ask but never came back, plus there was now a clear lack of management and everyone was huddled in a corner. Came at 11pm and no music, no apology, no explanation and when we left neither of us had our tickets refunded. Lovely bar, lovely decor, shame about the food, question how they would cope when busy and as for the jazz, what jazz!!
