I tried the Ilaya for breakfast and was pleased with my choice of poached eggs with chorizo, halloumi and spinach. This dish usually includes smoked potatoes but I opted for a carb-free option. The coffee was also very good and the service was fast. The waitress was welcoming, attentive and helpful.

Walking down the street and thought let's have dinner. Nice table, local wine, two meals from the specials board. The duck and mushroom risotto was beautiful. Great professional service and as usual the tiramisu was the best. Thanks
We had a business meeting at Elaia Cafe this week. A busy popular place with very nice food and friendly happy staff. The Tiramusa was 'to die for'. Certainly worth a visit when in Launceston!
Elaia is a great place for a drink or casual lunch. We had lunch there with a daughter visiting from Melbourne. We shared a pizza, chips and a salad, and had a glass of wine. The waitresses were friendly and the food was good. The Elaia Salad was, however, totally overpriced at $18.95. It was a very simple salad - nothing special at all.
Visited twice now with my Son for a coffee/champagne after work on a Friday. The waitresses are friendly enough but the service once ordered it extremely slow - tables were filthy and no Offer to clean them - we shared a plate of grilled bread with olive oil and the plate was whisked away from us while we had bread on it still and hadn't finished..... A lovely causal setting and nice food - disappointing service
