The Po-Zai House, also known as the "House of the Poor", is located at the end of the slanted alley of Wangdetang's crazy hall in the old district. It consists of two ancient Portuguese-style two-storey buildings facing each other across the courtyard. It took more than 100 years to build the Pozai House. During the Second World War, a large number of Portuguese overseas Chinese from Shanghai came to Macau. The Pozai House became a place for refugees and the poor, and later became a female elderly home. Nowadays, the Po-Zai House has been transformed into a variety of art workshops that can be participated by children and adults on a regular basis, attracting young literary and artistic people to stop here.
