Photos of Bajiaoting Library

The Octagonal Pavilion Library is located in front of the Macau City Hall and was built in 1927. The library is a two-story building, named after the shape of an octagon. The library has a green tile roof and vermilion windows, which looks like a Chinese-style pavilion, very simple and elegant. The library has a collection of about 20,000 volumes and more than 90 kinds of newspapers and periodicals, mainly in Chinese. There are bound editions of the early newspapers of "Overseas Chinese Daily", "Macau Daily", "Wen Wei Po", "Ta Kung Pao" and "Guangming Daily", which are very helpful for finding materials from the 1950s to the 1970s.
