Yapojing means "mountain spring" in Portuguese. It used to be the main source of water in Macau, so it was an early settlement of the Portuguese in Macau. The Portuguese-style buildings of the past are still preserved, and are far from the mansion of Zheng Guanying, a famous thinker in modern China, reflecting the characteristics of the peaceful coexistence of Chinese and Western cultures. In order to preserve the cultural characteristics of this area, a series of reconstructions have been carried out. The two century-old banyan trees in the ground in front of Yapojing have been preserved. Classical street lamps have been added and marble pavements have been renovated. There are also A-Ma Temple, Zheng Family Mansion, and Holy Old Mansion nearby. Valuable buildings in the "Historic City of Macau" such as the Lengzo Church.
