Photos of Monte Fort

The fort is located on Persimmon Hill near the Arch of St. Paul's. It was built in 1616 and is one of the important historical monuments in Macau. The fort used to be the core of Macau's defense system, and built a defense network of artillery fire covering the east and west coasts. The fort is an irregular quadrilateral as a whole, and the four corners become bastions. The wall is about 9 meters high, and more than 30 cannons can be erected to resist attacks from all directions. Today, the fort has become a tourist attraction. There is a large green space in front of it, where you can overlook the panoramic view of Macau.
