There are some Malaysia local food, such as some tropical fruits dishes.  Actually the weather is quite warm all year, to eat more vegetables and fruits well.

Since Chinese people take about thirty percent Malaysia population, there are many Chinese restaurants in eastern Malay and issue Cantonese food.

A nice place to drop by for lunch and buy tea bags. highly reckon if you pass by Sandakan to KK route.

The southeastern Asian is also Asian people.  Their food almost may be suitable eastern Asian people. On the other hand, not very strong smell food there.
