The Shanghai Exhibition Centre is an exhibition and convention center located in Shanghai’s Jing’an District. Built in 1955 to commemorate the alliance between China and the Soviet Union, it was originally known as the Sino-Soviet Friendship Building. The architecture is distinctively Stalinist and stands in stark contrast with the modern glass buildings surrounding it. Today the Shanghai Exhibition Centre hosts various functions such as art exhibitions, fashion shows, and general conventions. Its distinct character and iconic appearance make the Shanghai Exhibition Centre well worth a visit.
