City Walls

Alaverdi Cathedral
Built by the Kakheti king in the 11th century, this church was the tallest church in Georgia until the Holy Trinity Church in Tbilisi was built. Davit Gareja: Border Town
Davet Gareja is close to the border with Azerbaijan. It is inconvenient to travel and is surrounded by desolate scenery. There are few tourists, but monument lovers should not miss the Udabno Monastery here. The monastery was carved out of caves and retains medieval murals. It is a cultural treasure of Georgia. You can rent a car from Sighnaghi or Telavi, or sign up for a day tour in Tbilisi.
