Eating farmhouse-style dishes in an antique old house is a unique experience. Wuyi Red Lantern Restaurant is such a farmhouse restaurant with strong local characteristics. The whole restaurant is a renovation of an old house. The carvings of the building are very fine, with carved beams and painted buildings. It looks like the residence of a wealthy family in the past. There are many red lanterns hanging at the door and inside the store. No wonder the restaurant is named Red Lantern. Jinhua area is famous for making ham and other meat products. It’s a pity that I didn’t eat ham, but a cold dish of sausage really conquered everyone’s stomach. The first bite made people feel amazing. A small plate is not enough for everyone to share. The other dishes tasted good. There is a pig’s trotter stuffed in the belly of the chicken pot, and the aroma is fragrant. The steamed buns here are oblate and round, with a red seal on them. At first glance, they have a strong rural flavor. The steamed buns have a soft texture and taste especially good when eaten with braised pork.

I went to the ancient building complex of Jingyuan in Wuyi and walked around until it was past mealtime. After I came out, I went straight to the Red Lantern Restaurant that I passed by because the beautiful door attracted me. This is an old house with quaint flavor. The owner moved it here from somewhere else. The screen wall, courtyard, wooden pillars, bluestone slabs, and many other old objects are very tasteful. In April, it was particularly fresh and pleasant to eat in this open-air environment. Since it was already afternoon, I only ordered a few home-cooked dishes. The ingredients were very fresh and the taste was just right. The service attitude of the store was very enthusiastic, and it felt like home. This is a more memorable farmhouse restaurant!
