This hostel was great. Very clean and neat. Bunks were great with own lockable storage.
Buffet breakfast was also amazing - like a hotel buffet breakfast.
The location is fine. There's a bus stop right in front that connects to a metro station going straight to Rome’s city center. The place is clean and quiet.
Some staff are friendly and helpful. Others seem like they don’t want to be there. No greeting, no eye contact—just a sense of disinterest. Cleaning staff stared at us like we were in their way. No “hello,” just pressure to leave so they could do their job. It might be a cultural thing, but it felt cold.
You can rent a water kettle for €15, and you’ll get the money back if it’s returned in good condition. But even that feels like a trust issue with guests. For hot water, a deposit system like that seems excessive.
The price matches the service and accommodation. It’s not great, not bad—just okay. Don't expect much more than the basics.

I really enjoy my stay here! The room is proper and clean and the staff was very friendly. I was a bit sad when it’s time to leave because I made really good memories here. The lovely lady at the receptionist also gave me food recommendations to try. Hopefully I can come back in the future!
The experience that we had at Fabulous Village was Mixed this time we stayed. We have stayed there before in the past and there were a few instances this time that made the stay not that pleasant.
Negatives: First of all, Some of the staff were not helpful and very blunt whenever they were engaging with us, it was not all staff mind you as some of them were quite friendly but we also experienced staff members ignoring us in favour of talking to other native residents and being sometimes rude with how they spoke to us. They also had a habit of not stomping out bad situations that made us uncomfortable. One instance came when we decided to go to the restaurant for some evening food, there was a big table of children and adults sat near us two who repeatedly said racist comments, mocking us and taking the piss while we were eating. the adults were no better, seeing the children behaving in such as manner and not intervening and instead staring at us as though we were doing something wrong. Numerous time the staff came over and saw this play out and not once did anyone offer to help or assist us with this situation which left us annoyed and frustrated with the staff and the residents. Another encounter had us trying to explain to the staff that we had a discount for the buffet breakfast, Instead they insisted that we had to pay the different amount and said the reason was because they changed it recently without notifying residents. As much as we tried to talk to them in a understanding manner, they were blunt and refused to consider our position, even going to far as to not even look at the evidence that I was showing them and just kept refusing. we have since emailed them about this situation when we came back from the trip but so far, we have not received any reply from them at all and are assuming they won't. We couldn't help but feel that when we were there we were singled out and treated differently since we were foreigners and also because my partner is asian so there were other instances where at the swimming pool area the older boys would splash water at us and throw balls towards us for no reason, whereas other residents didnt have this experience at the time, again the staff did nothing to help with this. Finally in terms of the facilities we had a shower head that was spraying out water at different pressures instead of the normal pressure you would be accustomed too so it ment that it was sometimes painful to have a shower. Furthermore, some of the plug sockets in our accommodation were broken already and just not usable throughout our stay there.
Positives: The security guard and the Infopoint staff were very polite, respectful and helpful during our stay which we appreciated after having other experiences with staff that were unpleasant. The accommodation was reasonably clean and spacious enough for two people and the bed was lovely and comfortable. the swimming pool was lovely apart from the experiences we had mentioned above and the food was very delicious and tasty too.
Overall we did have some positive aspects of this stay but they were overshadowed by the staffs rude and ignorant behaviour during different situations and the constant feeling of subtle and not so subtle racism that we had to endure during our time there, it really made us feel uncomfortable and to the point were we couldn't wait to leave to go to the city and be away from that environment.

Big spacious room, tiny but comfortable bathroom.
The room was clean, as you can see there are only some scuff marks from the trolleys of the people previously occupying the room.
The location is good. Near a lot of restaurants, near the station but in a safe area, and with a metro station nearby.
The only negative thing, no traditional bidet.
The staff is super nice and accommodating. Really a positive experience overall for us. We will definitely be back.

Nice hotel overall. Close to the Termini Train Station and closest metro station is around 10min walk. There are local shops and very nice restaurants around too.
The only issue is a very small shower cabin and noise (You can hear everything happening in the neighbouring rooms and corridor). Reception team was nice and helpful too.
Worth mentioning that check-out is strictly at 10-10.30, so there is no late checkout option.
It's exactly like in the pictures. VERY CLEAN and warm welcome. I RECOMMEND.
Pay attention to BUS schedules if you go to the airport. The TAXI is €15 for a 10' trip. You are 1 hour walk from the airport (I advise you not to walk because the cars think they are on the highway, too dangerous, pedestrian area non-existent).

GGuest UserFantastic stay at Villa Aurora rooms whilst I was in Rome.
My room was clean, comfortable, and well-furnished. Fully functional air conditioning (rather than those temperamental units in other places) really was a joy to come back to during the heat of a Rome summer.
But so far, I've just commented on some features of the room, rather than my experience here.
What will endure in my memory as I look back was the warm, classically no-nonsense Italian hospitality I had from Donatella.
Throughout my time here, she made sure I was well looked after with room cleaning, bottled water, towels etc.
But I most appreciate her assistance in terms of local knowledge. Local knowledge such as a good seafood restaurant , ”Trattoria del pesce” just down the road (which happens to also be in the Michelin guide); such as to not miss out on the Baths of Caracalla; and perhaps more trivially, but arguably also essential, where to do my laundry!
Thank you so much for making my stay here such a pleasure Donatella, and for adding both a new Italian word and outlook to my vocabulary - ”tranquilo”.
SsabinasinparisStayed here for 2 nights, you get what you pay for but for me the location was.more important, the rooms are clean but old and dated however our room was huge with a nice balcony which was nice, the bathroom had a big shower as well.
However the beds were not very comfortable, upon arriving in our room our bed wasn't made up, but once mentioned it was rectified very quickly.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, we felt very welcome and looked after.
The only downside is that there isn't a readily available lift, so you need to use stairs (there is a lift they will let you use to bring your luggage up only)
Also we were not aware until we got to the property that air conditioning was not included and we had to pay extra $5 euro per night, a bit unusual but as it was scorching hot we were happy to pay.
The staff even let me store my bag there whilst I went to nice for a few days so I really appreciated their customer service.
Big plus was it was close to a lot of things and Roma termini is within walking distance or a very short bus ride.
AAnonymous UserIt is more or less 20mins on foot from Termini station. The bunk bed has no stairs to go to top bed. There is no socket plug in each bed. In the room only one has a socket plug near their bed. You have to pay when you leave your luggage after check out. No towel, shower gel provided. They should add more toilets and shower.
NNatthenutterThis hotels location is great. It's near to everything.
I walked to the main tourist attractions.
The hotel room was great. I was expecting a single room, but I got a double, always a bonus.
The room is a little dated, but I quite liked that. It took me back to when I was a child going down the working man's club with my parents 🤣 keeping it retro , love it!
The room had everything I needed. It was clean and light (even had shutters and blacked out curtains, which made the room dark).
The staff were helpful & polite, which is all I ask for.
The only negatives were the tram line (which could be quite loud and rumble at times) & the hotel tax; they wanted it in cash/euros I didn't have any euros as I didn't think I'd need them, thinking I could pay with everything by card.
Other than that, a great stay in Rome.
GGuest UserThe hotel is simple but we knew it was 2 stars. It is very close to the term, central region of Rome. Breakfast was simple but well served. The interior is simple, but good enough, and the air is not the way to control the temperature, because it is automatic. No freezer.
