This private Studio apt is located in the heart of DC, close to everything DC has to offer, we are short 7-10min walk to the metro station and a 5min walk to over 10 restaurants within the area. It's a great spot for someone who just wants to enjoy the city for a few days. The unit is very warm and cozy and has a great gem of an outdoor space for enjoying the sites and sounds of the city. There is only street parking, however, you can park on either side of the street without restriction. The unit has a half kitchen, no stove but has a microwave and toaster oven for use. It has one full bath with a shower. Just 4 blocks from the Shaw/Howard U. Metro, this modern English basement apt., with high ceilings is a walkable spot to a gourmet grocery store, bars, restaurants, the Convention Center, and Chinatown. The home has exposed brick, just 5 metro stops to the White House, the Mall, and museums. The Shaw neighborhood is vibrant, constantly changing, and full of diversity and young people. 15 mins to Washington Hospital Center, Howard University Hospital, Children's Hospital, and VA Hospital Center. The on-property hosts in the main house are proud to be sharing their home in the city they love!!!There is no onsite parking, however there is paid (Park Mobile app) street parking in the immediate area and several private and public parking spaces/garages are nearby. As you enter this delightful 1-bedroom apartment, perfect for your visit to the city, you are greeted by a very comfortable light filled living room which includes a 60" Smart TV to use your favorite apps. Free Wifi is also included. The entire apartment is decorated with various pictures of DC to help you visualize many aspects and neighborhoods of the city. You will find a few books about the city and places to visit, and a wall-sized map of the city to help plan your day and activities as you explore the Nation's Capital. The property includes a full kitchen stocked with all the necessary dishes, utensils, and cookware you will need to make a delicious meal, as well as a small dining area that sits 4. The kitchen includes a Keurig coffee maker with coffee/tea/cream/sugar to get your mornings started!You will sleep in a cozy queen bed in the bedroom and a comfortable queen sofa bed in the living room (with all the clean linens you need), making you feel right at home! Additionally, there is a Pack and Play crib and a stroller available if you are traveling with little ones. The full bathroom includes a tub/shower combination, and all the linens and basic bathroom amenities you need. Also, this apartment includes your own washer and dryer (with detergent and fabric softener) should you need to freshen up your clothes. Right outside your private entrance is a quaint shared sunken patio with plenty of seating and a gas grill should you want to whip up a meal outdoors. We do our best to meet your basic needs such as linens, cookware, hair dryer, washer/dryer, WiFi, and heat/AC (with separate remote controls in the bedroom and living room to ensure your individual comfort) during your stay. We take your safety seriously, so you will notice exterior cameras viewing the alley as well as the front garden and inner courtyard. The gated property entrance, and apartment door entrance have coded keypads for your ease of access. The code is changed between guests. Also, there are smoke/CO2 detectors and an egress window in the bedroom. We've even included two umbrellas to help keep you dry if it happens to rain during your stay.To get you anywhere you wish to go in the city you have access to a bus stop directly in front of the home, the U St metro station just 2 blocks away where the African American Civil War Memorial and Museum are located. We pride ourselves in being a walk/bike friendly city. Many things are within easy walking distance or you can grab a City Bike rental just steps from the property. The city also has very robust ride-share so you can easily get a Lyft, Uber, etc. within minutes.Just over a mile away you can be at the White House and the National Mall with all the historic attractions (i.e. Washington Monument, Lincoln, Jefferson, MLK, Jr., WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam memorials, Smithsonian museums, National Archives, and Tidal Basin with the world-famous Cherry Blossom trees).
