5. Pack your things, meet your travel buddies at the agreed time and place, and get ready to go!

Safety Guidelines for Participants

Participants are users who sign up for an activity for travel buddies on the Travel Buddies platform ("Participants") and join the activity after their information is approved by the organizer. As a participant, you must comply with the following guidelines to ensure your own and others' safety and rights.

Information browsing: Participants can browse and select their preferred activities for travel buddies on the Travel Buddies channel, fill out the sign-up form, and upload personal information such as their profile picture, display name, and nationality, which should be consistent with their Trip.com account information.

For contact information, participants are encouraged to initially provide only one method, such as an email or social media account, to facilitate communication. They can then decide later if they wish to share additional contact details.

Please note that the profile picture, display name, nationality, gender, language, and personal profile submitted by Participants in the sign-up form will be visible to the travel buddies confirmed and approved by the organizer; the contact information provided will only be visible to the organizer of the activity for which the Participant has submitted a request to join, and will not be visible to other users.

Due to the limited number of Participants in each activity, the organizer may select Participants. To facilitate the organizer's selection and timely contact with Participants, Participants need to provide valid contact information.

Sign-up cancellation: After a sign-up application is submitted and approved by the organizer, the Participant can cancel the application before the sign-up deadline. If the sign-up form is pending approval or has been rejected, the Participant can cancel the sign-up at any time, regardless of the sign-up deadline.

Review and approval: After a sign-up form is submitted and approved by the organizer, the Participant can view the organizer's contact information and contact the organizer.

Self-protection: Self-protection: While some personal information is required during the sign-up process, participants should remain vigilant about their self-protection by avoiding the disclosure of excessive personal information. They should also pay attention to personal and property safety and be alert to potential fraud.

Risk assessment: Participants should assess the risks of the activity themselves and take necessary safety measures when participating in the activity.

Legal compliance: Participants must strictly comply with relevant laws and regulations and protect their own and others' legitimate rights and interests.

Physical condition: Participants must ensure that their physical condition is suitable for the activity, especially those involving high-risk elements.

Additional Notes

Users participating in the activities on the Platform must meet certain verification requirements as specified on the Platform. The Platform reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to approve or reject any User’s participation.

For users with higher app versions (APP ≥ 8.24.2), initiators must have a record of valid flight orders (the number of orders must meet the specified standard) and complete phone number verification to post travel companion activities. The specific posting requirements are as shown on the page.

For users with lower app versions (APP < 8.24.2), initiators must meet the platform's membership level certification requirements and have a record of valid flight orders (the number of orders must meet the specified standard) to post travel companion activities. The specific posting requirements are as shown on the page.

Participants located in China must meet membership level requirements, while those outside China must meet the platform's membership level requirements and have a record of valid flight orders (the number of orders must meet the specified standard). The specific participation requirements are as shown on the page.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY
By using the Trip Travel Buddies platform, you irrevocably acknowledge and agree that all interactions between Users (including meetings, travel, shared accomodations, or transportation) occur AT YOUR OWN RISK.

You are solely responsible for their safety, well-being, and any actions you take while using the Platform. Trip.com and its affiliates will not be held liable for any injuries, damages, losses, or harm that may occur as a result of their participation.

We do not screen, endorse, verify or monitor Organisers and Participants' identity, criminal history, financial status, and/or mental/physical health. We also do not inspect or guarantee the safety of any activity, sharing of vehicles or lodging arrangements.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to waive Trip.com from all liability for anything that happens between Users' interactions or in connection with any activity planned by any Organiser. You further agree to release Trip.com from any claims, demands and damages arising out of or connected with any of your interactions with other Users or in relation to an activity organised by other Users.
