Sorrisniva Arctic Wilderness Lodge

En pleine nature, bordé par la rivière Alta, le lodge Sorrinisva s'intègre parfaitement dans son environnement avec la chaleur du bois et la gentillesse du personnel. On craignait que ce soit "trop contemporain et froid" et le charme a complètement opéré. ** River Room Il s'agit de la chambre "de base". Elle fait 30m² et les lignes sont anguleuses. La literie est très qualitative. Nous avons vraiment bien dormi. La salle de douche est spacieuse et bien pensée. Il y a également de nombreux rangements et avec l'équipement hivernal, ce n'est pas un luxe. La vue est totalement dégagée sur la rivière Alta avec une petite terrasse permettant de profiter de l'extérieur. Un velux s'ouvre sur le ciel pour observer les aurores. On a préféré sortir sur la terrasse pour en profiter ! ** Petit-déjeuner Gourmand, varié et qualitatif, nous nous sommes régalés chaque matin. La nourriture est également très savoureuse aux deux restaurants (Laavu et Maku). ** Lieux communs Un grand salon autour du bar et du feu de cheminée permet d'attendre les activités et profiter des lieux. Des thés, tisanes et cafés sont à disposition gracieusement toute la journée. Les lieux sont spacieux et chaleureux. Le personnel attentif, vraiment sympa et agréable à chaque instant. ** Les activités Nous avons fait : chiens de traineaux une journée complète, rencontre avec les Samis et les rennes, motoneige, chasse aux aurores. Ca a été très bien organisé : respect des horaires, qualités des prestations et gentillesse (une fois encore) des prestataires ! On redoutait le côté "attrape-touristes" et nous ne l'avons pas ressentis. Les prestataires sont des locaux passionnés et passionnants qui prennent le temps de répondre aux questions et de partager leurs savoirs et cultures. Nous tenions sincèrement à remercier le personnel qui a enchanté notre séjour. Un sans faute et un souvenir merveilleux qui restera graver dans nos mémoires.

Amenities at the resort were wonderful. I really appreciated the staff helping with scheduling all of our activities for us before we arrived. Food in both restaurants excellent. Rooms are very large and comfortable with a lovely view. We also enjoyed the spa. Front desk was very helpful. A special recognition for the staff member from Greece (I'm sorry that I do not remember his name), but he was especially helpful and welcoming. One suggestion: we asked about transportation to Trasti and Trine. A person at the desk offered to give us a ride in the van and pick us up. I tipped them for their effort - but was very surprised when presented with a hefty bill the next day. I should have been told the 10 minute ride would cost ＞ $130 each way. Otherwise, everything was wonderful

I’ve rated this as 4 out 5 rather than 5 based on what I felt was less than perfect service at the hotel. The hotel itself is situated about a 20 minute drive outside of Alta. It’s very picturesque in snowy surroundings and the riverside rooms are perfect for viewing the northern lights. The rooms are well appointed but there is no TV or speakers for music. The rooms are very comfortable and exceptionally quiet. There is also a small outside seating area too. Your food options are fairly limited; either a set menu fine dining experience or an a la Carte restaurant with fairly limited choice. Having said that, all of the food we had was good. Breakfast is included and there is a good deal of choice. You can book lots of excursions from the hotel but it might be worth trying to prebook as when we tried to book snowmobiling two days before we wanted to do it there was nothing available (we booked via Get Your Guide and were able to drive into Alta to meet our tour there). There is nowhere else within walking distance for food or drink so you are somewhat at the mercy of the hotel. The thing I think the hotel could improve is the quality of service. Don’t get me wrong, it was good but all felt very robotic and transactional. It wasn’t very friendly. We’d just come from another hotel in Finland where the service was exceptional and I think we were expecting something similar whereas what you get is something akin to any normal hotel. There were a few stand out members of staff .. Julia, the Australian guy in the Ice Bar, the lady with pink hair but other than that, everyone else seemed to just be going through the motions.

El hotel hermoso, se siente una paz estar ahí. La cama muy cómoda. Todo muy limpio.

Sorrisniva Lodge & hotel team was excellent and long to be remembered what was a perfect Nordic winter experience for us! We can highly recommend the lodge, the igloo hotel and especially the experiences (reindeer, huskies, snowshoeing)!

Staff is lovely , Fine dining is delicious, Good vibes, The room is very clean, everything is good .
