Our stay at Thotalagala was nothing short of perfect. Calm beyond words—a true escape from the noise of everyday life. The views are absolutely stunning, with lush tea estates stretching out in every direction. There was an endless supply of tea to sip on while taking in the scenery. The service was top-tier in every way. Chamara, the manager, along with our wonderful butlers Janaka, Dulip, and Vinoth, and everyone else at the property made us feel completely at home. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their hospitality truly set this place apart. The food, incredible. Every single meal was a delight—from the buttery pastries to crispy hoppers to the perfectly cooked steak. We looked forward to every bite. My family loved every moment of our stay. Thotalagala is a rare gem, and we can’t wait to return.

Thotalagala offers world class service. The whole experience is nothing short of exceptional. The location is stunning, providing breath-taking views that are truly unforgettable. The food is exceptional, with every meal being a delightful culinary experience. A heartfelt thanks to the entire team, especially Mr. Manjula and the rest of the staff, for their outstanding service. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail make the stay incredibly special.

Wir waren 4 Nächte in Thotalagala und hätten es noch länger ausgehalten. Wir hatten die Sir Liptons Suite, die auch über einen eigenen Sitzplatz verfügt. Sicher Disco und Highlife sucht man hier vergebens. Dafür wird man in jeder Art verwöhnt und kann es eifach geniessen. Wer Freude hat am eher kolonialen Stil hat, oder im Rundreisegehtz mal eine Pause braucht, der muss dieses Schmuckstück einfach besuchen.

Even though it is now a month ago, I cannot get our stay at Thotolagala out of my mind. The setting s stupendous but it it is the people who make this place very special. The service, care and attention to detail is amazing. On our first morning, I went out with my paint box to do a watercolour sketch on the veranda, There was apparently no one around, and as I was rummaging in my bag for pencils etc, three pots of water magically appeared on the table. The food was delicious, the swimming pool refreshing, the walks in the area beautiful. Thank you Mandala , Charmara and all the team for making this an amazing experience. We cannot wait to return,

I can only add to all the other glowing reviews. This place is one in a million and an absolute must if visiting the tea plantations. It is almost like staying with friends. The house is beautiful, spacious and elegant and the view across the garden is breathtaking with the infinity pool quietly there and not detracting from the ambience. I don’t think I have experienced such perfect service, the moment one moved there was someone asking what they could do for you! The two sitting rooms were just lovely and who would have expected open fires in February and even more delightful, hot water bottles in the bed! We had a wonderful ride in a tuk tuk through the tea plantations up to Lipton’s Seat with even more stunning views and were then treated to afternoon tea on the lawn. Everything was just perfect and I cannot recommend Thotalagala highly enough.
