Chill Ville, View Point Hotel

We took the train from Kandy to Ella and after a tortuous Tuk tuk ride up into the hills we arrived at Chill Ville. We had a lovely welcome and the room was beautiful, very spacious and with a lovely big balcony looking out over the hills. We enjoyed a delicious evening meal, there are some really nice curries on the menu. My husband had ‘pad Lanka’ with prawns and I had a very tasty chicken curry with rice and plantain. We enjoyed a great night’s sleep and then woke up to the most incredible view. It is hard to describe how this place makes you feel, but there is a calming and wonderful atmosphere that transports you away from all of your troubles. It really is quite beautiful. The breakfast was lovely, a big pot of strong coffee and lots of delicious fruit, juices, pastries and hot options. The staff were all so friendly and lovely. Sadly we only stayed at this little piece of paradise one night but it will be somewhere we will never forget. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

Really amazing hotel with super views both from the room and from the restaurant. The food was outstanding - curries, lamprais and the best breakfast we have had - the entire spread home made with delicious omelettes, muffins and spiced marmalade. Incredible. The views from our room (no.1) were spectacular and a large terrace to sit and relax on. one thing to be aware of is the air conditioning does not work - or there is not enough electricity to power it we were told, so there is the machine but no controller to power it although an adequate fan is in the room. I say this to manage expectations as the climate is cool in the evening so that this would not affect too much.

This place has a spectacular view, attentive staff, good food and pleasant rooms. . When we were there in April, there were hundreds of vine orchids in bloom. Context : During our 19 days in Sri Lanka, we stayed in 8 hotels. Two hotels were rated 5 star. We liked all of the hotels and, if we rated all of them on TripAdvisor, they would all get 5 stars. We were very satisfied with the breakfasts and dinners. With two or three exceptions all the dinners had very similar offerings. We always asked for the minimal amount of chilies. Many of the hotels were located far from the city they were ostensibly located in (possibly more than an hour away by car).

Heerlijk hotel met ruime schone kamers en fantastisch uitzicht en (klein) zwembad. Ontbijt lunch en diner menu uitgebreid en lekker. Personeel ontzettend aardig behulpzaam en lief. Zeker een aanrader! Ze hebben een eigen Tuktuk service tegen betaling.

This small hotel is in reality far more beautiful than in pictures. Peaceful location and separate villas gives privacy. The staff is super friendly and the food delicious. You get easily a tuk tuk ride wherever you want to go and after coming back you can chill att the pool with a spectacular view. We enjoyed our stay very much and can highly recommend this place!

Fantastic stay here for 3 nights last week. Very friendly staff. Ella is very busy so we really appreciated being able to relax away from that, with only a short tuk tuk ride in to town when we wanted. Amazing views from all three rooms our family had. So peaceful. Great breakfast buffet each day plus eggs cooked fresh any way. Had dinner there one night, lovely food too. Would highly recommend.
