Pros:
-Spacious and stylish room (we had two double bedrooms), good air conditioning, large mirrors, a bathtub, great facilities, beautiful pools and gardens, and well-designed common areas. The entire villa is gorgeous. The staff were friendly and offered daily cleaning, which was appreciated. Location is also quite good.
Minor Cons / Suggestions for Improvement:
- There was a small leak in the roof of my room.
- No fridge in the room — you can use the shared fridge in the common kitchen, which is a nice option, but having a small fridge in the room would be much more convenient.
- No kettle in the room — same issue as the fridge; it’s a bit annoying for small things like making tea or coffee.
- The light switches are far from the bed, so you have to get up and walk in the dark to turn it off. A small bedside lamp would easily solve this and make a big difference.
- The location is good, but the villa is at the end of a small road, behind another hotel (Villa Lumbung). This makes it a bit tricky to order a Grab — you usually have to walk out to the main road near the hotel to meet the driver. Not a huge issue, but inconvenient, especially when it’s raining. Clearer signage and an accurate location pinned on Google Maps would help a lot.
Major Cons / Most Frustrating Issues:
- The hot water was very unreliable. It would come and go, and I never really had a proper, consistent hot shower. This was frustrating, and unfortunately made the bathtub unusable. The staff were kind and tried to help, but the issue remained throughout the stay.
- The Wi-Fi is quite poor. It’s okay for checking emails or messaging, but not stable or fast enough for streaming videos or working online. This is a big downside if you need to work remotely during your stay.
Overall:
It’s a really lovely place with a lot of charm — I loved the villa, the room was great, and the staff were friendly. Good value overall. If they can fix a few of these issues, especially the hot water and Wi-Fi, it would go from good to amazing.
