Ok, so far this is the best hotel I have ever stayed taking into consideration its value for money. The place is exactly how you see it on the pictures! Very attentive General manager who does a lot to keep high standards. Food was amazing, spa was very peaceful, rooms are of good size and you can notice attention to details everywhere. Definitely will come back as 3 nights were not enough here!

The beautifully arrangement of stable 2-layer tents inmidst a palmtree garden is overwhelming. A special thanks to our 'butler' Chaminda as he was making our time really stress free. From renting a tuk tuk to serving dinner on the beach, he helped us enjoying our time at this great place even more. The chef is also a great artist, we had everything from the menu and it was all phantastically arranged, fresh and tasty. Director Umberto is in control of everything in a very charming way. We thank the whole team for the great hospitality and the many smiles and chats during our stay. We really felt at home.

From the moment we arrived at Karpaha Sands, we knew we had found somewhere truly special. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience, a feeling, a peaceful slice of paradise where every detail has been crafted with care and love. The attention to detail is absolutely unbelievable—from the beautifully designed villas to the thoughtful little touches that make your stay feel effortless and serene. We’ve stayed in many beautiful places, but this one is truly in a league of its own. And the food—wow. Without a doubt, the best meals we’ve had in Sri Lanka, and possibly anywhere. Fresh, flavorful, creative, and prepared with heart. But what made our stay unforgettable was the people. Every single person who works at Karpaha Sands made us feel like family—warm, genuine, and deeply caring. We want to give special thanks to: Umberto, the amazing manager, who runs the place with heart and grace. His attention to detail and ability to make everyone feel at home is rare. Just a genuinely lovely person❤️ • Sarath, our wonderful waiter, whose kindness and attentiveness made every day (and night!) special. He played with the kids endlessly and always did it with a smile. • Agit, the cocktail master—his creations are as memorable as his energy. Best lemongrass mojito ever! • Dinusha, the chef behind every unforgettable dish—thank you for feeding not just our bodies, but our souls. • Nisanthan, our incredible butler, who anticipated every need before we even knew it ourselves. An absolute gem. To all of you—thank you for making our stay feel like home. We’ll carry this experience with us for a long, long time. Can’t wait to return.

Karpaha Sands is a world away from the world. If you want to get away from the busy commercial world and want to relax and recharge this is the place. From the moment we arrived we greeted so warmly and our personal butler Nishanthan Nadesan looked after us for the full 4 days we were there. To be honest, the service they offer is world class. The rooms were incredible, clean and spacious with an outdoor shower. The pool and restaurant is amazing. The food is incredible, my daughter wanted a pasta and it wasn't even on the menu but the staff went over and above to make one for her. Special shout out to Rajitha in the restaurant for looking after us. The staff, incredibly helpful and accommodating. Special shout out to Jude Surendra who helped my sister almost everyday to clean up a wound caused by a leech bite in Kandy. He made sure the wound is washed everyday using sterilised water and a fresh dressing was done. My sister enjoyed the holiday because it got better! Thank you Jude. We also made a trip to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, it's only 90 min drive and my daughter enjoyed it very much. She was surprised to learn such rich history about Sri Lanka and it was once ruled by Kings and Queens. She recently did a presentation at school about Sri Lanka and Polonnaruwa was one of the key talking points. We also visited the lovely cafe's towards Batticaloa to eat "honey Hoopers" which is famous this part of the country. My daughter enjoyed the outdoor cinema arranged by the hotel, she had the most amazing time watching "cars 3" under the stars with food and drinks served by Nishanthan. Thank you Nishanthan! This holiday was exactly what i needed, to wake up in the morning everyday at 5.30am and sit in the porch and watch the sunrise was cleansing my soul. I actually regret booking only for 4 days, next time minimum stay is 7 days because this is the kind of place you want to recharge your soul. Thank you to everyone at Karpaha Sands for making my trip so memorable and to all the staff. I will be back again next year for an extended stay!
