We stayed in a Classic 2-bedroom apartment for 5 nights from 26 to 30 April before departing for Xi'an. Our first stay was pleasant, with no major issues.
However, when we returned to Beijing on 3 May and checked into a Deluxe 2-bedroom apartment, we encountered several problems. This apartment featured one bedroom, a second room separated by sliding doors, a kitchen, and a shared bathroom. Upon check-in, we noticed the following issues:
1. A used tissue was left on the bedside table.
2. The bathroom door handle was broken, preventing it from closing properly.
3. The toilet flush was not working.
4. The peephole on the main door was damaged.
We reported these issues to the front desk the next morning. In response, they promised to resolve the problems and provided us with two complimentary breakfast vouchers as an apology.
However, when we returned to our room in the evening, we found the room door slightly ajar and unlocked, raising serious security concerns. Fortunately, our belongings were still intact, but we also discovered a staff T-shirt left on the sofa. After reaching out to the hotel via WeChat, a staff member arrived to retrieve the T-shirt and apologised, acknowledging that it belonged to a hotel employee. However, no further explanation was provided.
Additionally, the room had a persistent cigarette odor, despite our attempts to ventilate it using the bathroom fan. We later found used a cigarette butt in the ashtray at the lift lobby, suggesting that smoking is being tolerated despite the hotel’s supposed no-smoking policy.
Overall, these issues significantly impacted our experience, and we hope that management will take steps to address these concerns for future guests.
