The location is convenient, close to where I need to go. The Asian staff member at the front desk (Susan) was very warm and friendly. She allowed me to hear Chinese and not feel too lonely or homesick while traveling alone.

Location: Well positioned immediately next door to Alcocks Green Rail Station and approx. 5 mins walk to a variety of shops and supermarkets. Approx. 10 min journey from Birmingham Moor St Station by train. Facilities: Small reception with an adjacent small bar and restaurant along with a pleasant seating area. Car Park available for a fee behind the hotel and within a small courtyard. Breakfast is served until 0930 which is a bit early for the weekend. Staff: All the staff I had interactions with very pleasant and professional. Property: Recently renovated hotel for the Garner Brand. Its an old property of an established hotel that has had a rebrand and been flipped. Rooms tend to be bijou but have comfortable beds. Some of the attention to detail in-regard to painting is lacking (see door picture). Bathrooms haven't been updated but are clean and functionable. Hallways as previously mentioned are narrow and have a variety of steps for the less abled bodied customer. My room did experience some noise from the road and the floor above due to the nature of the building. Final thoughts: Good overall property, like the small feel of the hotel and friendly staff and I would visit again should the pricing point be favourable.

We stayed at this hotel for one night before catching a flight the next day. Upon entering the hotel, the reception area was lovely and smelt nice. Staff were friendly and informative. I wouldn’t say this hotel would be disabled friendly as it has many narrow hallways and steps and even if you had a lot of luggage if travelling you would struggle as the hallways are very narrow. But this is no fault to anyone as this is just the style of the building. When we got to the room it was fine for the one night we were staying but could’ve become very cramped if there any longer as the room was quite small however very clean. A few scuffs around the room which is just down to maybe being a big older and dated but doesn’t affect the stay really. You essentially are getting what you pay for. My only main point which I struggled which was mainly down to personal preference was how hard the pillows were. I struggled to get a goodnight sleep as the pillows were so firm and not supportive. There is also plenty of car parking around the back of the hotel! I would stay for a night if stopping over but no longer than that :)

Honestly - I dont usually leave reviews for IHG hotels as I travel so much that they just pass me by. The garner ones are new and although basic I would put them above expresses. This one is ace. The staff are so helpful, especially the night team at the restaurant and bar. Could not be more polite. I genuinely thought I was in Europe because it was that good (iykyk). The food is not your usual hotel fare - its way better. Had a curry and it was sensational. BP had a burger and the chips he had were amazing. Rooms need a little more updating as they've refurbished the front which is really pleasant, overall a top stay and should I need to be at the NEC again I will stay here.

Absolutely good staff & forgot my mobile charger whereby receptionist Susan took the time & trouble to find me a charger & looked after my mobile until fully charged! Susan super friendly & cheerful & nothing was too much trouble for her. Very comfortable nights sleep & full breakfast excellent. Bar to have a few drinks before retiring to bed.

Very comfortable stay in this hotel. You get what you pay for and it is by no means luxury but the room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The room was quite a way from reception, along corridors etc but wasn't a problem as we only had an overnight bag. I saw the menu on the reception desk, but we had already eaten. The prices looked extremely reasonable.

it's one of the oldest English-format houses. lots of ups and downs through narrow passages and easy to get lost in the house. was a cool experience to stay there. Parking is available for guests on the premises. Breakfast will finish on time as in most UK hotels.
