As I arrived and was allocated my room, I soon after had to go back to reception as the room smelt of damp was terrible, I was given another room which smelt slightly better but could still smell damp, rooms outdated brown water coming from sink taps and from the shower, no towels in the room, pictures from the website looked nothing like the room I received, only one lift working later to be informed that the lift hasn't been working for six months, when I asked the concierge what makes Golden Parnassus a 4* hesitated and informed me that work still needs to be done, and maybe my expectation was a bit to high.
Outside bar was been completed days after I arrived, and then when completed only played elevator music which could not be changed as it was standard on usb stick very disappointed, only one part of the pool was illumined at night which seemed dangerous, not enough poolside umbrellas for protection from the sun.
One evening I went for dinner and asked for a cup of hot water to be told by one of the waiters he couldn't get me hot water as he can only get hot water in the mornings in which I had to speak to someone more senior, as I didn't understand why I couldn't have a cup of hot water in the evening.
Apart from morning pool exercise no other activities was available, Mexican night no holiday maker participation.
Restaurant servicing from chipped plates and cups, poor standard of food this is not the standard I excepted for a 4* resort.
The fact that I had to spend more money and stay at a different resort (The Grand Oasis) leaving my friends to stay at Golden Parnassus which then on set my anxiety by being alone.
The positive thing I will take for this hotel is the staff (Oscar breakfast waiter his energy in the morning was infectious) also bartender Ricardo for poolside bar when it was completed made me felt welcome when I came to the bar.
I have travelled the world and by far this is the worse hotel I've stayed at.

There were no towels in the room, so I told them to leave them so they could come in when I wasn't there, but when I went out, there were no towels. When I inquired, the staff said they were busy.
He then gave me a handkerchief and a small towel.
The water smells and the towels are dirty.

Me gustó el hotel aunque es pequeño y algunos restaurantes estaban cerrados fue bueno, el desayuno no es tan rico pero los snacks y la cena deliciosa, el servicio por parte de todo el personal es excelente destacando a Martin de bellboy, Moisés y Fermín del bar de la piscina, increibles!

Worst “All inclusive” resort I have ever seen. It doesn’t deserve even a 1 star. - Building: very old, no maintenance at all, no AC is most of the common areas (it was VERY hot), no ramp at the entrance to the lobby. - Food: they advertise 5 restaurants but only 1 was open per day (same restricted menu every day), the buffet only had 2 food stations and the same food was served every day, no AC (you eat and literally sweat at the same time), from our group 8 out of 10 ended up with food poisoning. - Rood service: they offer a wide variety of options in the menu. When you try to call, no one answers, when they do, they say they only have burgers and hot dogs that will take between 40 to 45 mins and they suggest you to go to the restaurant instead. - Room: the coolest we had was 25 Celsius no less than that, the shower water war burning hot every day, every time. - Pool: it was like 1 meter deep only and of course it was super-hot all the time, it was also very dirty. - Staff: it was the only “good” think about this “resort” except for the lady at the reception, the lady from room service and the lady at the towel exchange station. In summary, stay away from this place. They pictures they advertise are not even close to reality (Scam).

Hôtel désuet.Nous pensons que cette hôtel va fermer bientôt. Hall d’entrée sombre sans fan ..Donc extrêmement chaud. Il faut chercher pour trouver le bar qui est isolé dans le noir sans clim.Et sans fan. Affreux.Pauvre fille qui y travaille.Le personnel est très gentils.Mais ils vont certainement perdre leur emploi bientôt. À l’accueil ont nous présente les restaurants ouverts avec l’horaire. Et bien non tous fermés quand tu viens pour aller souper.Un buffet avec un menu seulement mexicain. Ouf!Sérieusement nous nous sommes fiées aux commentaires des clients avant d’arrêter notre choix.Oui le personnel est vraiment souriant et avenant. Mais attention tout est à refaire. Si vous faites une recherche sur tik tok , google.Il y a des filtres qui empêchent de voir le vrai visage de cette hôtel actuellement en août 2025.Cette hôtel présente des photos sur leur site qui doit datés de plus de 30 ans.Croyez nous .L’hôtel date de plus de 30 ans dans tout.seulement un ascenseur sur deux est fonctionnel.La climatisation est au minimum partout.Aucune activité le soir . Bingo le jour autour de la piscine et partie de poker dans la cuisine .Les machines à liqueur hors services.les lumières brûler partout.Honnêtement cela ressemble à un hôtel hanté.Nous en sommes à notre 38E voyage tout inclus.Et bien cette endroit est le pire de tous.Nous avons payés 4150.00$ pour sept jours.Cuba aurait été mieux.ne vous faites pas avoir. Nous avions une vue magnifique sur l’eau .mais Chambre avec vieux draps clim qui ne fournissait pas.Vielles Serviettes au chambre et aussi à la piscine.Les tasses pour boire votre café toutes ébréchées. Dégelasses la boisson dilué. Il n’y a pas de frigidaire dans les chambres.Ont doit se débrouiller pour remplir des bouteilles d’eau qui seront chaudes en peu de temps.

Profoundly Disappointing and Unsafe - Avoid at All Costs My partner and I recently returned from what was supposed to be a 4-star all-inclusive holiday at the Golden Parnassus, booked through Love Holidays, and our experience was nothing short of a nightmare. This hotel is a gross misrepresentation, and I feel compelled to share our story to prevent others from enduring the same misery. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt dingy and poorly maintained. The main foyer was stiflingly hot with ripped seating, and only one of the two elevators was working, causing frustratingly long waits. Our room offered no escape; the air conditioning smelled musty, barely cooled the room below 25.5°C, and intermittently cut out, severely disrupting our sleep. The shower head was visibly rusted, adding to the general feeling of neglect. The most distressing and dangerous aspect of our stay was the hotel's complete failure to cater to my Coeliac disease. Despite assurances at check-in, the staff showed a total lack of understanding of "gluten-free." On our first night, after extensive questioning, I was offered only plain rice. There was a complete absence of allergen signage, which caused immense anxiety. My fears were tragically realized when I witnessed cross-contamination on a grill and, after unknowingly consuming contaminated food, suffered a night of severe sickness, cramps, and diarrhoea. An apology was given, but no meaningful action followed, leaving me constantly afraid of becoming ill again. The dining experience was a complete disaster. Restaurants like "Pier 12" were permanently closed, and "Sumo" was open only once. The food timetables were inaccurate, and when we did find an open restaurant, items were frequently missing from the menu. My sole "gluten-free" option was often bland, unseasoned chicken or vegetables, which were also frequently unavailable. Buffet dinners were sparse, rarely topped up, making it feel like we were eating leftovers. We often went to bed hungry despite paying for an all-inclusive holiday. Cleanliness and maintenance were appalling throughout the entire property. We saw tablecloths with the same stains for days. Parts of the hotel were cordoned off due to serious issues like dripping roofs, trip hazards, and even a fallen ceiling. The poolside bar was closed for three days after a roof collapse. We encountered dirty cutlery, chipped plates, exposed wires, power cuts, brown water, broken furniture, non-functional gym equipment, and flat, watered-down drinks from a constantly broken machine. Ants even bit us during meals. The situation became so unbearable that my partner paid for a two-day trip to Playa del Carmen just so we could escape the hotel. Upon our return, we were treated appallingly. Our bracelets were cut off, we were escorted by security, and the receptionist was rude and disbelieving about our room number, refusing to apologize after our booking was confirmed. The Golden Parnassus is, in my opinion, a 2-3 s
